Equipment: New Rebelle Line from Nerf Takes Aim at Females

Today was Hasbro’s Press/Fan day at Toy Fair. All of the usual sNerf Rebelleuspects were there on display Star Wars, Marvel Superheros, Transformers and Nerf. I was excited to see what Nerf had in store for 2013 and though it was cool it wasn’t anything I hadn’t seen with an exception or two. The real surprise came when I walked back into the main showroom and was greeted by something I never expected, a new line of Nerf marketed to girls. This new line is called “Rebelle.”

Thanks to movies such The Hunger Games and television shows like Revolution young girls have action heroes to emulate. The weapon of choice for these young ladies is the bow. Because of the upsurge of bow usage in popular culture Hasbro has introduced the Rebelle line which will help girls get their inner Katniss on! These bows and blasters (can’t say guns) are decked out in pink and purple but the pack as much punch as what you see over on the boy’s line. Gender roles are different than they were 30 years ago. Today, girls aren’t content with just playing with their Easy Bake Ovens and baby dolls they want to show they can be bad asses too.

Set for release this fall, the first wave has some exciting stuff to offer. There are 2 crossbow pistols, a full size bow (different from the Big Bad Bow) a 2 pack mission kit (called Stealth 2-pack) and my favorite of the wave a six shot blaster similar to the Maverick. This six shot blaster is also from a mission kit that includes the blaster, protective glasses and a holster. You may have noticed there are no names mentioned, well, that is because none of them had identifiers.

I really do not have much information on these but I wanted to get the pictures out there for all of our Nerf loving friends and followers. As soon as we get info on these we pass them onto you but for now enjoy.
