This large 176 page book offers fans a great behind the scenes look at this popular show. Considering the main character is a cannibal, it is fitting. The book covers everything from character profiles, food, to Hannibal’s wardrobe (those are some ugly jackets). One of the most interesting parts of the book is the crime scene photos. It is amazing how realistic the bodies look. There is a morbid fascination with the macabre which makes this book perfect for fans.

Written by Jesse McLean, The Art and Making of Hannibal also has an introduction by producer Martha De Laurentis and is an in depth look at the making of this sometimes gory series. From the aperitif through the dessert this book is worth devouring. This book would be perfect not just for fans of Hannibal but for fans of police procedural shows.
