Some people love Christmas. You can see it when you go into their \"dscn4457\"<\/a>houses and you see the tiny Santa Claus figures, hordes of reindeer and snowmen covering their trees and shelves. Personally I like to decorate in a less conventional manner. I like to let my geek flag fly, especially around the holidays because the decorations are an extension of my quirky personality. This is why I like the Keepsake Ornaments from Hallmark.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I know that when I was growing up our tree had to be traditional. Glass ornaments, garland, blinking multicolored lights and silver tinsel but as an \u201cadult\u201d I can decorate any way I want because it is my tree. Where the trees of my youth lacked whimsy my tree almost screams, \u201cA pop culture obsessed man child lives here and he hasn\u2019t vacuumed in a month!\u201d Well, maybe not the part about vacuuming but the pop culture fascination is 100% correct. Seriously, nothing says, \u201cMerry Christmas\u201d better than a xenomorph from the Alien film franchise.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I am not kidding about an alien ornament. This year Hallmark released an alien Keepsake Ornament from the Alien movie franchise. The alien Hallmark released was not just any alien, it was the Alien Queen. The Alien Queen made her film debut in the sequel to 1979\u2019s hit, Alien. Alien was directed by Ridley Scott and was a perfect blend of horror and science fiction. That first film spawned sequels and still attracts legions of fans 37 years later. The queen is spectacular. She truly is the stuff of nightmares and yet she is beautiful.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Alien Queen Keepsake Ornament from Hallmark is a large figure. The official measurements for this ornament are 4″ W x 3.91″ H x 4.87″ D. What do those measurements mean to you? Basically they are saying that this ornament is so big you won\u2019t lose it on the tree. The Alien Queen Keepsake Ornament isn\u2019t just big, it also looks spectacular. The sculpt captures even the tiniest detail of the creature and it is amazing. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Since in the film the creature was poorly lit and relegated to the shadows this ornament gives you a close look at all of her. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
