A modern-day story about finding love against all odds, \u201cThe Sun Is Also a Star\u201d explores whether our lives are determined by fate or the random events of the universe. The film stars Yara Shahidi (TV\u2019s \u201cGrown-ish,\u201d TV\u2019s \u201cBlack-ish\u201d) as Natasha and Charles Melton (TV\u2019s \u201cRiverdale,\u201d TV\u2019s \u201cAmerican Horror Story\u201d) as Daniel, along with John Leguizamo (\u201cJohn Wick: Chapter 2,\u201d TV\u2019s \u201cBloodline\u201d).<\/p>\n

From MGM and Warner Bros. Pictures and directed by Ry Russo-Young (\u201cBefore I Fall,\u201d \u201cNobody Walks\u201d), \u201cThe Sun Is Also a Star\u201d is based on Nicola Yoon\u2019s bestseller of the same name, which was No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list and has received multiple accolades, including 2016 National Book Award Finalist, Amazon\u2019s Best Book of 2016 in YA, Amazon\u2019s Top 20 Children\u2019s Books of 2016 in YA, the New York Times Notable Children\u2019s Books of 2016 and Entertainment Weekly\u2019s 10 Best Books of 2016.<\/p>\n

Young directed \u201cThe Sun Is Also a Star\u201d from a screenplay by Tracy Oliver. The film was produced by Leslie Morgenstein and Elysa Koplovitz Dutton, and Pamela Hirsch served as executive producer.<\/p>\n

SYNOPSIS<\/p>\n

College-bound romantic Daniel Bae (Charles Melton) and Jamaica-born pragmatist Natasha Kingsley (Yara Shahidi) meet\u2014and fall for each other\u2014over one magical day amidst the fervor and flurry of New York City.
