WaterTower Music has released the new, \"\"<\/a>expanded edition of the soundtrack to lauded director Christopher Nolan\u2019s hit 2014 film Interstellar.<\/em><\/strong> The Interstellar (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) [Expanded Edition], <\/em><\/strong>features original score by Oscar-, Golden Globe-, and Grammy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer, who also collaborated with Nolan on the director\u2019s films Dunkirk, Inception, and The Dark Knight Trilogy<\/em><\/strong>. Zimmer\u2019s score was nominated for a Best Original Score Oscar in 2015, one of 5 nominations the film garnered.<\/p>\n

Fans can experience the Interstellar (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) [Expanded Edition] <\/em><\/strong>on a 4-disc, 180-gram vinyl expanded version with exclusive vinyl etching, or a 2CD expanded version – each which include liner notes from Christopher Nolan and Hans Zimmer. The expanded album will also be available as a digital release. Notably, the Expanded Edition\u2019s 30 tracks include over 40 minutes of music previously unavailable for streaming: five tracks originally found solely on a limited edition 2014 \u2018Illuminated Star Projection Edition\u2019 of the soundtrack, and one track that was only released promotionally. The Interstellar (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) [Expanded Edition] <\/em><\/strong>marks the first time all of these songs will be available in one collection.<\/p>\n

High praise for Zimmer\u2019s music poured in upon the film\u2019s release. Variety<\/em> stated that “Hans Zimmer contributes one of his most richly imagined and inventive scores…\u201d The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> described the music as a “soaring, sometimes domineering and unconventionally orchestrated wall-of-sound score.\u201d The BBC <\/em>maintained that “Hans Zimmer’s music makes the film seem even more colossal than it would otherwise…\u201d and that \u201cZimmer invokes the original meaning of ‘pulls out all the stops.’\u201d Soundtrack.net<\/em> declared that “Hans Zimmer has created a close to perfect musical canvas for those extremely dedicated to the audio experience\u201d in their five-out-of-five-star review. And The Telegraph<\/em> described the music of Interstellar as \u201cthe vast sounds of a composer set loose on his grandest ever assignment.\u201d<\/p>\n
