Pictures and Legendary Entertainment have begun production on the highly-anticipated follow-up, \u201cDune: Part Two,\u201d once again directed by Oscar nominee Denis Villeneuve (\u201cDune: Part One,\u201d \u201cArrival,\u201d \u201cBlade Runner 2049\u201d).&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The big-screen epic continues the adaptation of Frank Herbert\u2019s acclaimed bestseller DUNE with returning stars including Oscar nominee Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet (\u201cWonka,\u201d \u201cCall Me by Your Name\u201d), Zendaya (\u201cSpider-Man: No Way Home,\u201d \u201cMalcolm &amp; Marie,\u201d \u201cEuphoria\u201d), Rebecca Ferguson (\u201cMission: Impossible \u2013 Dead Reckoning\u201d), Oscar winner Javier Bardem (\u201cNo Country for Old Men,\u201d \u201cBeing the Ricardos\u201d), Oscar nominee Josh Brolin (\u201cGlass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery,\u201d \u201cArmy of the Dead\u201d), Stellan Skarsg\u00e5rd (the \u201cMamma Mia!\u201d films, \u201cAvengers: Age of Ultron\u201d), Dave Bautista (the \u201cGuardians of the Galaxy\u201d films, \u201cThor: Love and Thunder\u201d), Oscar nominee Charlotte Rampling (\u201c45 Years,\u201d \u201cAssassin\u2019s Creed\u201d), and Stephen McKinley Henderson (\u201cFences,\u201d \u201cLady Bird\u201d). Also joining the returning cast are Austin Butler (\u201cElvis,\u201d \u201cOnce Upon A Time\u2026In Hollywood\u201d) as the notorious Feyd Rautha and screen legend Christopher Walken (\u201cThe Deer Hunter,\u201d \u201cHairspray\u201d) as the Emperor.&nbsp; Florence Pugh (\u201cBlack Widow,\u201d \u201cLittle Women\u201d), L\u00e9a Seydoux (the \u201cJames Bond\u201d franchise and \u201cCrimes of the Future\u201d) and Souheila Yacoub (the \u201cNo Man\u2019s Land\u201d series, \u201cClimax\u201d) round out the extensive ensemble cast.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This follow-up film will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Villeneuve is directing \u201cDune: Part Two\u201d from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts based on Herbert\u2019s novel.&nbsp; The film is being produced by Denis Villeneuve, Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Tanya Lapointe and Patrick McCormick.&nbsp; The executive producers are Josh Grode, Herbert W. Gains, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Kim Herbert, Thomas Tull, Jon Spaihts, Richard P. Rubinstein and John Harrison, with Kevin J. Anderson serving as creative consultant.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Once again, Villeneuve is collaborating with Oscar-winning director of photography Greig Fraser (\u201cLion,\u201d \u201cZero Dark Thirty,\u201d \u201cRogue One: A Star Wars Story\u201d), three-time Oscar-nominated costume designer Jacqueline West (\u201cThe Revenant,\u201d \u201cThe Curious Case of Benjamin Button,\u201d \u201cQuills\u201d), and Oscar-nominated makeup, hair and prosthetic designer, Donald Mowat (\u201cBlade Runner 2049\u201d).&nbsp; Multiple Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer (\u201cBlade Runner 2049,\u201d \u201cInception,\u201d \u201cGladiator,\u201d \u201cThe Lion King\u201d) is again on hand to create the score.&nbsp; Villeneuve is also reteaming with Oscar-winning production designer Patrice Vermette (\u201cArrival,\u201d \u201cSicario,\u201d \u201cThe Young Victoria\u201d), Oscar-winning editor Joe Walker (\u201cBlade Runner 2049,\u201d \u201cArrival,\u201d \u201c12 Years a Slave\u201d), three-time Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor Paul Lambert (\u201cFirst Man,\u201d \u201cBlade Runner 2049\u201d), and Oscar-winning special effects supervisor Gerd Nefzer (\u201cBlade Runner 2049\u201d).&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDune\u201d is being filmed on location in Budapest, Abu Dhabi, Jordan and Italy.&nbsp; The film is slated for a November 17, 2023 worldwide release from Warner Bros.
