Bad choices don\u2019t make a bad man. At least \"\"<\/a>that\u2019s what Bode Donavan\u2019s been told. Midway through a five-year prison stretch, he\u2019s been trying to convince himself of it, too. He gets the chance to prove it, signing on to an unconventional prison-release program: in exchange for reduced sentences, convicts are paired with firefighters battling Northern California wildfires. The heat is turned up when Bode\u2019s assigned to the program in his rural hometown, the place where all his troubles began.<\/p>\n

    ABOUT FIL EISLER<\/p>\n

    Fil Eisler is one of today\u2019s busiest and most diverse composers, with projects that range from big studio action pieces and comedies, to gritty independent films and hit television shows. He has been nominated for and been the recipient of numerous awards including the World Soundtrack Awards New Discovery, SXSW Best Soundtrack Award and multiple BMI Awards.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Eisler\u2019s ability to understand directors\u2019 musical intent and his flexible approach to scoring has led to numerous collaborations with some of Hollywood\u2019s most accomplished creatives, including Lee Daniels, Marti Noxon, Catherine Hardwicke, Ben Falcone, and Phillip Noyce, with whom he collaborated on the current Lionsgate\/Roadside Attractions thriller, The Desperate Hour starring Naomi Watts.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Eisler, a Czech-born, English-raised composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist, has worked with ensembles of all shapes and sizes to help bring his scores to life. Variety described his music as “smoky, elaborate film noir-inspired compositions,\u201d while Beatweek Magazine praised him for making \u201cbeautiful music\u201d that \u201c\u2026almost acts as another character further enveloping the audience in its grasp.\u201d<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Eisler\u2019s inventive scores and signature themes enliven some of TV\u2019s most popular series and notable films. His tension-filled orchestral cues for Fox\u2019s Golden Globe-nominated drama series \u201cEmpire\u201d and Sony\u2019s action thriller \u201cProud Mary,\u201d provide a powerful contrast to his integrated electronic and orchestral arrangements for Netflix\u2019s sci-fi thriller \u201cThe Titan,\u201d and provocative music for Lifetime\u2019s Peabody-winning series \u201cUnReal.\u201d He also composed the main title music for Amazon\u2019s critically acclaimed \u201cThe Romanoffs.\u201d  Recently in television, Eisler has been scoring two quite different series for Netflix now in their second seasons, \u201cBiohackers,\u201d a German-produced action\/suspense series and the massively popular youth-oriented Netflix series \u201cOuter Banks\u201d. Last fall he scored the HBO Max premiere feature, \u201cSuper Intelligence,\u201d starring Melissa McCarthy, and recently teamed up with them again on the feature \u201cThunder Force\u201d for Netflix. This heavy-metal\/orchestral hybrid score features guest instrumentalists Scott Ian (Anthrax) and Dave Lombardo (Slayer\/Suicidal Tenencies). Together with vocals from Lzzy Hale (Halestorm) and Corey Taylor (Slipnot), Fil and this supergroup recorded the eponymous title song for the feature as well.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Eisler\u2019s music for Showtime’s Emmy-winning \u201cShameless\u201d earned him the BMI Film and TV Award. The same year, he also won the BMI Award as both the composer and conductor for ABC\u2019s breakout hit drama \u201cRevenge.\u201d Eisler also composed the main title theme and acted as co-composer and music director for the Peabody-winning documentary, \u201cNewtown,\u201d for which he organized and led an all-star line-up of over a dozen Hollywood composers who each donated a piece of music for the film.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    In 2008, Eisler was invited to participate in the prestigious Sundance Film Composer’s Lab and his projects have garnered critical acclaim on the film festival circuit ever since. As part of his ongoing commitment to independent film, he returned to Sundance in 2011 with the Inupiaq-themed thriller \u201cOn the Ice,\u201d scored the Sundance-backed documentary \u201cWhatever It Takes\u201d and Jonathan van Tulleken’s BAFTA-nominated horror thriller \u201cOff Season.\u201d<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Eisler won the Best Film Score Award for his work on Robbie Pickering’s \u201cNatural Selection\u201d at the 2011 SXSW Film Festival. The film was the most decorated of the festival, also winning the Grand Jury and Audience Awards. He continued his work with Pickering on the 2015 Sony feature \u201cFreaks of Nature. and was represented at the 2017 festival with Marti Noxon\u2019s To The Bone (Netflix) and at the 2020 festival with the documentary \u201cUs Kids.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Eisler\u2019s credits further include three films for Warner Bros., the comedy \u201cLife of the Party,\u201d the hilarious film reboot of \u201cCHIPS,\u201d and the People\u2019s Choice Awards-nominated \u201cHow To Be Single.\u201d Eisler has scored several shows across multiple genres including AMC\u2019s twisted drama, \u201cDietland\u201d and Bravo\u2019s hit comedy series \u201cGirlfriends\u2019 Guide To Divorce.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Fil lives in Los Angeles with his one lovely wife, two charming kids, and three badly-behaved dogs.<\/p>\n
