Lakeshore Records is set to release \"\"<\/a>The Tiger\u2019s Apprentice\u2014Music from the Paramount+ Original Movie digitally on February 23 featuring an original score by composer Steve Jablonsky (Transformers).  Jablonsky\u2019s score captures the spirit of the thrilling animated adventure with a soaring full orchestra, pulsing synths, vocalizations and a variety of Chinese instruments. Based on the popular children\u2019s book series, the film featuring a star-studded voice cast is currently streaming on Paramount+.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A young boy in San Francisco meets a talking tiger named Mr. Hu and discovers he’s the latest in a long line of guardians who protect an ancient phoenix from evildoers.<\/p>\n

Notes Jablonsky: \u201cMy main goal with this film was to find the right balance between the deep cultural history represented by the characters and the modern approach the film takes to telling their story. I hope the resulting mix of orchestra, synthesizers, percussion, Chinese instruments and vocals matches what the film is trying to say.\u201d  He adds, \u201cI played most of the synth parts on this score, but I was fortunate to record LA\u2019s finest musicians; full orchestra, percussion, vocals, plus a variety of Chinese instruments including Dizi and Erhu. This tremendously talented group really brought the score to life.\u201d<\/p>\n

    ABOUT STEVE JABLONSKY<\/p>\n

    Steve Jablonsky has composed the music for many of Hollywood\u2019s most successful films.  He previously composed the score for director Michael Bay\u2019s blockbuster \u201cTransformers\u201d films: \u201cTransformers,\u201d \u201cTransformers: Revenge of the Fallen,\u201d \u201cTransformers: Dark of the Moon,\u201d \u201cTransformers: Age of Extinction\u201d and \u201cTransformers:  The Last Knight.\u201d  He also created the music for the director\u2019s dark comedy, \u201cPain & Gain,\u201d as well as his 2005 futuristic thriller, \u201cThe Island.\u201d  In addition, Jablonsky composed the scores for Bay\u2019s Platinum Dunes horror remakes \u201cA Nightmare on Elm Street,\u201d \u201cFriday the 13th,\u201d \u201cThe Hitcher,\u201d \u201cThe Texas Chainsaw Massacre\u201d and \u201cThe Amityville Horror.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Jablonsky\u2019s recent credits include writing the original music for \u201cRed Notice\u201d starring Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds and directed and written by Rawson Marshall Thurber for Netflix which opened in select theaters and was available for streaming on Netflix in November 2021; \u201cSpenser Confidential\u201d starring Mark Wahlberg and directed by Peter Berg for Netflix which was released in March 2020, \u201cBloodshot\u201d starring Vin Diesel and directed by David S. F. Wilson for Sony which opened in March 2020, the action comedy \u201cGame Over, Man! starring Adam Devine and directed by Kyle Newacheck and the action thriller \u201cSkyscraper\u201d starring Dwayne Johnson and written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber which opened in July 2018.<\/p>\n

    Recent projects for Jablonsky also included Warner Bros. Pictures\u2019 animated action-adventure feature film \u201cDC League of Super-Pets\u201d from director Jared Stern in which Dwayne Johnson stars as the voice of Krypto the Super-Dog which was released in North America on July 29, 2022.<\/p>\n

    Jablonsky composed the score for the upcoming feature film \u201cBorderlands\u201d directed by Eli Roth and starring Haley Bennett, Cate Blanchett and Kevin Hart. \u201cBorderlands\u201d is based on the popular video game set on the fictional planet of Pandora where people search for a mysterious relic and is scheduled to be released by Lionsgate on August 9, 2024.<\/p>\n

    Jablonsky has worked on multiple projects with director Peter Berg, including the action drama \u201cLone Survivor,\u201d starring Mark Wahlberg and Taylor Kitsch, and the action adventure \u201cBattleship,\u201d starring Liam Neeson and Alexander Skarsg\u00e5rd.  He continued his collaboration with Berg on the action-thriller \u201cDeepwater Horizon.\u201d  Jablonsky also recently composed the score for the Keegan-Michael Key-Jordan Peele action-comedy \u201cKeanu\u201d and the action-adventure \u201cTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Jablonsky\u2019s additional film credits include the scores for the Vin Diesel-Elijah Wood actioner \u201cThe Last Witch Hunter\u201d; Gavin Hood\u2019s adventure \u201cEnder\u2019s Game,\u201d starring Harrison Ford and Asa Butterfield; Ruben Fleischer\u2019s \u201cGangster Squad,\u201d starring Josh Brolin and Ryan Gosling; David Gordon Green\u2019s comedy adventure \u201cYour Highness,\u201d starring James Franco, Natalie Portman and Danny McBride; and the Japanese anime film \u201cSteamboy,\u201d directed by Katsuhiro Otomo, as well as the documentaries \u201cOrigin Story\u201d and \u201cWhen Elephants Fight.\u201d<\/p>\n

    For television, Jablonsky wrote the music for the smash hit ABC series \u201cDesperate Housewives.\u201d  He also composed the score for the award-winning telefilm \u201cLive From Baghdad,\u201d as well as several series, including \u201cThreat Matrix\u201d and ESPN\u2019s \u201cSports Century: The Century\u2019s Greatest Athletes.\u201d  He more recently scored the entire first season of NBC\u2019s comedy, \u201cYou, Me and the Apocalypse.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Jablonsky developed his film composing career collaborating with such noted composers as Hans Zimmer and Harry Gregson-Williams.  He has written additional music for such films as \u201cBad Boys 2,\u201d \u201cPirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl,\u201d \u201cArmageddon,\u201d \u201cTears of the Sun,\u201d \u201cPearl Harbor,\u201d \u201cHannibal\u201d and \u201cDeceiver.\u201d<\/p>\n

    With videogames becoming more innovative and sophisticated, so have their scores.  Jablonsky\u2019s music can be heard in such top-selling games as \u201cGears of War: Judgment,\u201d \u201cGears of War 2 & 3,\u201d \u201cTransformers: War for Cybertron,\u201d \u201cPrince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands,\u201d \u201cTransformers: The Game,\u201d \u201cThe Sims 3\u201d and \u201cCommand & Conquer 3: Kane\u2019s Wrath.\u201d<\/p>\n

    He also scored the music for the BMW spot \u201cHostage\u201d for director John Woo, as well as commercials for such products as Chevrolet, Coca-Cola and the U.S. Army.<\/p>\n
