The critically acclaimed, American Fiction, \"\"<\/a>from Amazon MGM Studios\u2019 Orion Pictures, will be available for purchase on Blu-ray on June 18. Written for the screen and directed by Academy Award\u00ae winner Cord Jefferson (TV\u2019s \u201cWatchmen\u201d), the film is produced by Ben LeClair, p.g.a., Nikos Karamigios, p.g.a., Cord Jefferson, p.g.a., and Jermaine Johnson, p.g.a.  The film was nominated for five Academy Awards\u00ae, including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Score and winning for Best Adapted Screenplay.<\/p>\n

American Fiction is Cord Jefferson’s hilarious directorial debut, which confronts our culture\u2019s obsession with reducing people to outrageous stereotypes. Jeffrey Wright stars as Monk, a frustrated novelist who\u2019s fed up with the establishment profiting from \u201cBlack\u201d entertainment that relies on tired and offensive tropes. To prove his point, Monk uses a pen name to write an outlandish \u201cBlack\u201d book of his own, a book that propels him to the heart of hypocrisy and the madness he claims to disdain.<\/p>\n
