Milan Records is excited to announce the \"\"<\/a>release of the Dune: Prophecy (Soundtrack from the HBO\u00ae Original Series) – Volume 1 with music by Academy Award-winning composer Volker Bertelmann (\u201cConclave\u201d, \u201cThe Day of The Jackal\u201d, \u201cAll Quiet on The Western Front\u201d). The soundtrack is available now, on digital platforms with the series will air on HBO and be available to stream on MAX November 17 with new episodes every Sunday.<\/p>\n

Volker Bertelmann notes, \u201cI had so much fun working on this prolific show, with its diverse locations and layers of conspiracy. Composing music for a story like this involves big themes, intense emotions, and action-packed moments\u2014all of which I loved bringing to life. It was an incredible experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

ABOUT DUNE: PROPHECY<\/p>\n

From the expansive universe of Dune, created by acclaimed author Frank Herbert, and 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, DUNE: PROPHECY follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit.     ABOUT VOLKER BERTELMANN<\/p>\n

    Volker Bertelmann is an internationally acclaimed pianist, composer and experimental musician. In 2023 he won a BAFTA and Oscar in the Best Original Score category for All Quiet on the Western Front. His score for Lion, which he composed in collaboration with Dustin O\u2019Halloran was nominated for multiple awards, including an Oscar for Best Original Score, Golden Globe for Best Original Score, and Best Film Music at the BAFTAs. He has provided music for several leading films and television series, including the score for Patrick Melrose, The Old Guard, Stowaway, the episode \u201cRed Book\u201d from Black Mirror, and the 2020 film Ammonite, co-composed with O\u2019Halloran. In 2022, he scored War Sailor, an official selection at the Toronto International Film Festival. He returned to TIFF in 2023 with One Life. <\/p>\n

    Bertelmann\u2019s latest projects include Conclave for which he collaborated with director Edward Berger again and has already garnered critical acclaim at the Telluride and Toronto International Film Festivals, positioning it as a strong contender in the awards race. In addition he is scoring the highly anticipated prequel series Dune: Prophecy (HBO Max), the Peacock series The Day of the Jackal, and the documentary Hollywoodgate.<\/p>\n

    A uniquely innovative pianist, who in his solo work goes by the name Hauschka, Bertelmann has worked with, among others, the MDR Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra, where he was the artist in residence, and the Grammy-winning violinist Hilary Hahn. Bertelmann is an active member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.<\/p>\n
