The score is a masterclass in subtlety and emotional depth, designed to serve as an integral part of the film’s narrative. The 16-track album is available today to stream on digital platforms with the film releasing in select theaters in the US on December 13 and nationwide on January 17.<\/p>\n

On the score, Dangel reflects, \u201cPace is one of the key elements of the Score to SEPTEMBER 5. I experimented with an ever-changing combination of different musical elements to keep the tension up and yet never produce a feeling of stability. SEPTEMBER 5 is not only a nail-baiting Thriller but also raises crucial questions about how we gain and report information in extreme situations. It\u2019s a huge honor to be part of this outstanding team.\u201d<\/p>\n

ABOUT SEPTEMBER 5<\/p>\n

Set during the 1972 Munich Summer Olympics, the film follows an American sports broadcasting team that quickly adapted from sports reporting to live coverage of a hostage situation. This decisive moment changed media coverage forever and continues to impact live news today.<\/p>\n

    ABOUT LORENZ DANGEL<\/p>\n

    Classically trained in composition, Lorenz Dangel is a multi-award-winning composer  renowned for his versatility, creating music for film, concert performances, and ballet.<\/p>\n

    After the early success of his score to Tim Fehlbaum\u2019s thriller \u201cHell\u201d, he showcased his stylistic range in movies of different genres, among them \u201cA Fortunate Man\u201d by Bille August,<\/p>\n

    \u201cMe and Kaminski\u201d by Wolfgang Becker and the epic family drama \u201cDying\u201d by Matthias Glasner for which he won his third German Film Prize for Best Music. Dangel\u2019s latest project sees him reunite with director Tim Fehlbaum for the upcoming historic thriller \u201cSeptember 5.\u201d<\/p>\n

    His collaboration with the choreographer Andrey Kaydanovskiy led to the creation of the orchestral ballet music \u201cThe Snowstorm\u201d at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich.<\/p>\n

    The summer of 2024 saw the premiere of PHON, brought to life by Sir Simon Rattle and a monumental orchestra, uniting the BR Symphonieorchester with four brass ensembles.<\/p>\n

    The joy of finding the right musical approach for each project using the entire world of sound not only inspires Lorenz in the process of creation but also defines him.<\/p>\n
