The Oscars\u00ae have Barbara Walters and \u201cThe Comedy Awards\u201d have Zach Galifianakis.\"\"<\/a> On Sunday, May 6, COMEDY CENTRAL will host an evening of programming honoring great comedy and the people who make it, starting with the television premiere of \u201cBetween Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis,\u201d the pioneering, no-holds-barred Funny Or Die series. The special 30-minute \u201cBetween Two Ferns: A Fairytale of New York,\u201d hosted by Galifianakis and produced by Funny Or Die, will air at 8:30 p.m. ET\/PT and serve as a precursor to the 2nd annual \u201cThe Comedy Awards\u201d airing at 9:00 p.m. ET\/PT.<\/p>\n

Hoping to do for ferns what Walters did for trees, Galifianakis \u2013 a multiple \u201cComedy Awards\u201d nominee – will welcome fellow \u201cComedy Awards\u201d contenders Tina Fey and Jon Stewart, as well as Sir Richard Branson, to his foliage-filled set for the show\u2019s primetime television debut.<\/p>\n

Funny Or Die\u2019s award-winning series \u201cBetween Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis\u201d is an \u2018anything goes, you-never-know-what\u2019s-going-to-happen\u2019 interview talk show. Shot between two ferns \u2013 literally \u2013actor\/comedian Zach Galifianakis asks questions to unassuming celebrities and personalities who often find themselves asking, and almost always out loud to Zach, \u2018what am I doing here?\u2019. Scott Aukerman (Comedy Bang Bang), is the Executive Producer and Director of \u201cBetween Two Ferns: A Fairytale of New York.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Comedy Awards,\u201d now in its second year, is dedicated to celebrating the art of comedy with a historic, one-night-only celebration honoring the most talented writers, directors, actors and stand-ups, who provided the laugh track to our lives this past year. The ceremony will premiere on COMEDY CENTRAL on Sunday, May 6 and air on COMEDY CENTRAL\u2019s international channels across Europe, New Zealand, India, Israel and Africa.<\/p>\n
