Abels’ and Wallace’s lively score is both mischievous in accentuating the comic moments, and joltingly sinister when the tone of the series turns dark. The Peacock Original Series debuted all eight episodes on Sunday, February 8.

The ‘Burbs follows a young couple who have reluctantly relocated to the husband’s childhood home. Their world is upended when a new neighbor moves in across the street, bringing old secrets of the cul-de-sac to light, and new deadly threats shatter the illusion of their quiet little neighborhood

Notes Abels and Wallace: “With The ‘Burbs, we set out to playfully blends modern suburban normalcy and creeping paranoia using sly, suspenseful themes to portray a quiet neighborhood taking on nightmarish overtones when suspicion takes hold. Lighthearted rhythms and exaggerated flourishes underline the series’ dark comedy, making everyday actions feel absurdly dramatic. Moments of eerie tension remind the viewer that beneath the humor lies an emerging mystery — possibly a dangerous one.”

Track List

The ‘Burbs Main Title

The Old Victorian

Open House

Agnes Festersen

Samira Reclaims Her Plate

Fireflies

Victorian Nightmare

Garbage Day

Wine Night Speculations

Ashen Rain

Where’s Darla?

The Search is On

Anyone Home?

Sardine?

The Basement

Lynn and Dana

The Phone

A Nine On The Tension Scale

The Truth

Good Cop Bad Cop

Betsy

Rob Remembers

Benzos and Babysitting

Old Friends

Nosy Neighbors

Cozy Neighbors

Taking Flight

Blackout!

The Bunker

That’s The ‘Burbs, Babes!

Streaming Smart Link: https://orcd.co/theburbs

ABOUT MICHAEL ABELS

Pulitzer-Prize-winning composer Michael Abels is best known for his genre-defying scores for the Jordan Peele fiims GET OUT, US and NOPE. The score for US won a World Soundtrack Award and was named “Score of the Decade” by The Wrap. The score for NOPE was also shortlisted for the Best Original Score Oscar. Abels scored the Netflix series SIRENS starring Julianne Moore, and the Disney Plus series STAR WARS: THE ACOLYTE, for which he co-wrote the original song “The Power Of Two” with Grammy-winners Victoria Monet and producer D’Mile. The score for THE ACOLYTE earned an NAACP Image Award. Upcoming projects include the science fiction action adventure HOPE for Korean auteur Na Hong-jin.

Abels’ creative output also includes many concert works, including the choral song cycle AT WAR WITH OURSELVES for the Kronos Quartet, the Grammy-nominated ISOLATION VARIATION for Hilary Hahn, and the opera OMAR co-composed with Grammy-winner Rhiannon Giddens. Abels’ concert music has been performed by the New York Philharmonic, the Chicago Symphony, Los Angeles Master Chorale and many others. Abels is currently Composer-In-Residence for the Detroit Symphony, which is recording an album of Abels’ symphonic works.

ABOUT ROBERT WALLACE

Robert Scott Wallace is a Los Angeles–based film composer and classically trained pianist who has worked on a wide range of films and series including SIRENS, THE ACOLYTE, THE DELIVERANCE, LANDSCAPE WITH INVISIBLE HAND, THE BURIAL, BREAKING, ALLEN V.
