Wells (Jamie Murray). H.G. showed her true colors when she sacrificed herself to save her friends but there was nothing she could do about the actual Warehouse. Meanwhile at Leena’s, when the Warehouse “died” so did Mrs. Frederic. Things looked bleak, but Artie had James Macpherson’s watch which could be the answer to save what was lost.

Season 4 begins in the ashes of what was once Warehouse 13, picking up right where last season left off. Everything in the Warehouse is gone, including Pandora’s Box and with it mankind’s hope. Going on clues found in the watch Pete, Myka, Claudia (Allison Scagliotti) and Artie must travel to Richerenches in the south of France to find the first clue. Eventually they are lead to the Vatican to complete the artifact which turns out to be Magellan’s astrolabe and the failsafe. The artifact is guarded by the Knights Templar who will stop at nothing to protect their charge.

The team is slowly whittled down with Myka being arrested, Claudia being caught in a trap and Pete being murdered by the leader of the Templars (Brent Spiner); leaving Artie to complete the task at hand. The Templar leader is also mortally wounded in his fight with Pete. Before he dies he tells Artie that if he uses the artifact he will create an evil of his own doing. Artie is willing to take that risk to bring hope back to the world and save his friends. However, not everything can be reset, since the artifact only resets the previous 24 hours and Jinx’s death took place outside that window.

When everything is reset Artie seems to question his own actions. He even begins to have nightmares. Those nightmares may soon become reality when he receives a call from Leena (Genelle Williams) telling him that Claudia had left in the middle of the night.
In the 3 years the it has been on Syfy Warehouse 13 has yet to disappoint and is one of my favorite shows on television (not just on Syfy). The season premiere I thought tied up all of the loose ends just a bit too quickly. Although it is obvious that events in this episode will have lasting repercussions throughout the season they could have made this a two-parter. It is a bit too trite.

Since Brent Spiner’s character dies in the alternate timeline it is safe to assume that he is alive and well following the use of the artifact so we may very well be seeing him again. I really enjoy seeing Star Trek alum make their way to the Warehouse. Pete’s mother (Kate Mulgrew) was the captain of the U.S.S. Voyager, his ex-wife (Jeri Ryan) is a former Borg and now the possible thorn in their collective side is a Soong type android. Also, Faran Tahir who plays Adwin Kosan, one of the Regents, was captain of the U.S.S. Kelvin (Captain Robau) in Star Trek 2009. Warehouse 13 is becoming a who’s who of Star Trek guest stars. Who knows maybe Jonathan Frakes could show up as Pete’s uncle.

Speaking of the possibilities of the timeline reset, H.G. Wells can make more appearances. Since Artie has asked Mrs. Federic and the Regents for leniency for H.G. maybe she could become a part of the team or maybe she can start a relationship with Myka. It would be nice to see more of Jamie Murray.

Warehouse 13 doesn’t disappoint with its well balanced mix of comedy, drama and science fiction. You almost have to wonder what artifact they are using to achieve such perfection.

Be sure to tune into the season premiere at 9pm…only on Syfy!

Warehouse 13 returns Monday night for an all new season.
