Ralph Macchio<\/strong>, known to millions for his roles as \u201cDan\"Ralph_Macchio\"<\/a>iel
\nLaRusso\u201d in The Karate Kid<\/em> series, \u201cEugene Martone\u201d in Crossroads<\/em> and \u201cBilly Gambini\u201d in My Cousin Vinny<\/em>, will make a rare appearance at Wizard World Comic Con NYC Experience on Sunday at Basketball City (Pier 36) in Manhattan.\u00a0 Macchio, 51, will also appear at Wizard World Chicago Comic Con in August at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in
\nRosemont, Ill.<\/p>\n

A Long Island native, Macchio first hit the national
\naudience as \u201cJeremy Andretti\u201d in the finals season (1980-81) of the series
\n\u201cEight is Enough.\u201d\u00a0 He then appeared opposite young future stars C.
\nThomas Howell, Tom Cruise, Emilio Estevez, Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe
\n<\/strong>and Matt Dillon<\/strong> in The Outsiders<\/em> before
\nhitting it big with The Karate Kid<\/em> in 1984.<\/p>\n

His first significant adult role came in My Cousin Vinny<\/em> (1992) and was followed
\nby strong performances in the film Naked in New York<\/em> and the musical
\nHow To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying<\/em>.\u00a0 In 2011 he competed
\non “Dancing with the Stars,” placing fourth overall in the competition, and last
\nyear appeared in the film Hitchcock<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Macchio will greet fans, sign autographs and pose for photo ops in New York, where he joins an all-star celebrity roster that includes comics legend Stan Lee<\/strong>, \u201cStar
\nTrek: The Next Generation\u201d icon Patrick Stewart<\/strong>, four prominent cast members of \u201cThe Walking Dead,\u201d including Norman Reedus, Laurie Holden, Michael Rooker <\/strong>and Chandler Riggs<\/strong>, \u201cThe Fonz\u201d Henry Winkler<\/strong> and WWE\u00ae Superstar CM
\nPunk\u00ae<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Wizard World Comic Con NYC Experience will be the fourth of eight events on the 2013 calendar, which also includes shows in Chicago (Aug. 8-11), Columbus, Ohio (Sept. 20-22), Nashville, Tenn. (Oct. 18-20) and Austin, Texas (Nov. 22-24).\u00a0 Wizard World has also scheduled four 2014 dates: Portland, Ore. (Jan. 24-26), New Orleans (Feb. 7-9), St. Louis (April 4-6) and Philadelphia (June 19-22).<\/p>\n

Wizard World events bring together thousands of fans of all ages to celebrate the best in pop-fi, pop culture, movies, graphic novels, comics, toys, video gaming, music, television, sci-fi, gaming, original art, collectibles, contests and more.<\/p>\n
