Who is Captain Action? Is he a remnant of the Cold War Era 196\"DSC_0620\"<\/a>0\u2019s? Is he the top agent in the A.C.T.I.O.N Directorate? I know who Captain Action is; he is anyone he needs to be to complete the mission. Captain Action is one hero with many identities.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The third release in the Captain Action line brings an Avenger and a member of the X-Men.\u00a0 First up is the Avenger we all want to be, Iron Man. Seriously who wouldn\u2019t want to be Iron Man? His alter ego is Tony Stark, billionaire, super smart, super suave and a bit of a drunk\u2026and he has awesome armor!\u00a0 While we can\u2019t be Iron Man, Captain Action can be\u2026and he pulls it off nicely.<\/p>\n

The Iron Man uniform consists of a pair of boots, a pair of gloves, chest plate, belt and helmet with faceplate. The under-uniform is a combination of cloth and vinyl.\u00a0 While great looking, the vinyl part of the uniform makes it difficult to pose your Captain Action but I don\u2019t think this is such a big deal. The gloves\/hands are in fixed positions, one posed to hold a weapon (Iron Man is a weapon) and one with the wrist bent to deploy the repulsor ray.<\/p>\n

I absolutely love the Iron Man uniform. I like the retro look of the uniform; as a child of \"DSC_0576\"<\/a>the 60\u2019s this is the Iron Man I remember. I am impressed by how well the clamshell armor fits the body of the Captain Action figure. It fits perfectly and stays on during play. This is also the case with the two part helmet\/face plate combo.\u00a0 The fit of the entire uniform is amazing and allows for some great playtime. \u00a0Even if you are not playing with your Iron Man, he looks great standing on a shelf (that would be a waste, you should be playing with your figures).<\/p>\n

The set also comes with more pieces for the Hawkeye build-a-figure. Hawkeye\u2019s wrist bands and arm bands are the pieces included in this set.<\/p>\n

The only problem I had with the entire Iron Man ensemble is that there was no Tony Stark mask. I thought that it would have been cool to have Stark\u2019s face to go along with the armor. It is just a minor omission but with the popularity of the Stark character right now it may have been a nice addition.<\/p>\n

Next up is the classic Wolverine. Wolverine was created by John Ro\"DSC_0633\"<\/a>mita Sr. and Len Wein and first introduced in full in The Incredible Hulk #181. The uniform for everyone\u2019s favorite \u201cCanuklehead\u201d is that first appearance uniform from when he fought the Hulk: the classic yellow and blue. I know I am committing some form of blasphemy in the geek community but Wolverine is not my favorite Marvel character and I am really not a fan of his classic look. That being said I was impressed with what Round 2 has done with this outfit.<\/p>\n

This set comes with a pair boots, a pair of gloves (with claws extended), a belt, a mask and the one piece cloth uniform. The costume is mostly fabric with vinyl shoulder pads. As with the Iron Man uniform, Round 2 has done an excellent job reproducing this uniform. \u00a0Everything was well made with a great fit. Everyone knows that the one thing that makes Wolverine, Wolverine, are his claws and I think the claws on this figure are perfect. Wolverine\u2019s adamantine claws in this case are affixed to his gloves and stationary. I do like the fact that they are made of hard plastic which gives you even more ways to pose and utilize the claws in a dramatic fashion.<\/p>\n

The mask fits over Captain Action\u2019s head and is a great depiction right down to the scowl. \u00a0Captain Action\u2019s movements while dressed in the Wolverine costume are not limited which is good thing. Even dressed in yellow, Wolverine still comes across as a total badass.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Hawkeye-build-a-costume part is Hawkeye\u2019s mask. The mask fits over the head of Captain Action just as the Wolverine one does. This is an essential part to completing the Hawkeye costume.<\/p>\n

We have talked about the costumes and now we will talk about the actual figure. \"DSC_0582\"<\/a>The Captain Action figure comes dressed in his A.C.T.I.O.N Directorate uniform with his trademark hat. Captain Action stands 11.5 inches tall and has 20+ points of articulation. This release is more basic than the previous one. This time around Captain Action comes with his gun but not his trademark lightning sword. He also comes with a pair of boots and a plain belt with no holster. Like I said it is pretty basic.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Captain Action figure is the most affordable, multi-poseable figure on the market today. He is quite different from his 1960\u2019s self with a remodeled head sculpt and more points of articulation. The hands of the Captain Action figure are removable so they can be interchanged with the hands\/gloves that come with the uniforms. The hands are a very tight fit and take a bit of effort to remove. This is a bonus since you wouldn\u2019t want the hands to just fall off during play.<\/p>\n

I was impressed by this release from Round 2<\/a> in their Captain Action line. The figure and the uniforms are well made and packed with playability. Both the uniforms and the figure retail for around $19.99.<\/p>\n
