Cosplay is flourishing at Wizard World events, and grou\"501st_Texas_LO\"<\/a>ps showing off their
\naffinity for all-time classics like Star Wars, \u201cStar Trek,\u201d Ghostbusters and
\nmany other movies, TV shows, comics and other characters will be on hand at
\nWizard World Austin Comic Con, Nov. 22-24 at the Austin Convention Center.
\nFamed cosplayer Ivy Doomkitty<\/strong> will lead the way as thousands
\ndress the part in a celebration of ultimate fandom all weekend.<\/p>\n

Not to be outdone, \u201cDoctor Who,\u201d \u201cBattlestar Galactica\u201d and steampunk organizations will
\nalso represent their favorite genres well during the event.<\/p>\n

Groups scheduled to show their devotion at Wizard World Austin Comic Con
\ninclude:<\/p>\n

\u00b7 405th Infantry Division<\/strong>, a community of prop and costume builders united in the common goal of expanding the knowledge of costume and prop fabrication, letting anyone build and wear costumes of the highest quality.
\n\u00b7 501st Legion Star Garrison<\/strong>, an all-volunteer organization which seeks to promote interest in Star Wars through the building and wearing of quality costumes, and to facilitate the use of these costumes for Star Wars-related events.
\n\u00b7 Anomaly Podcast<\/strong>, whose episode topics include Sci-fi and Fantasy television, film, literature, games, interviews, costuming, geek culture and more. The shows also release
\nconvention and renaissance festival reports.
\n\u00b7 Austin Toy Museum<\/strong>, a professional organization dedicated to the preservation and
\neducation of the cultural significance of toys, consisting primarily of action
\nfigures, key comic books, and popular character toys from the 1950’s to the
\nearly 1990’s.
\n\u00b7 Ark Ange<\/strong>l, the local Austin-based chapter of STARFLEET, which has provided \u201cStar Trek\u201d fans a way to meet each other, make friends, have fun, give back to their communities, and show that the dream of Gene Roddenberry can live long and prosper.
\n\u00b7 Battlestar Raven<\/strong>, serves as Battlestar Galactica Fan Club’s Flagship Chapter. It
\nis a fan driven website dedicated to \u201cBattlestar Galactica\u201d and fans from all
\nseries are welcome to join.
\n\u00b7 Central Texas Droids<\/strong>, a local branch of the R2-D2 Builders Club, using the web as a common means to gather information, share thoughts and ideas with one common goal… to build its very own life size Astromech Droid.
\n\u00b7 Central Texas Galactic Alliance<\/strong>, a Star Wars fan group, formerly the Austin Fan Force, which focuses on costuming and going to local events and participates in various
\ncharities.
\n\u00b7 DFW Ghostbusters<\/strong>, a non profit fan group that brings together fans of the 80’s blockbuster film. It assists and encourages members to build screen accurate props and do public appearances.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Doctor Who Fan Club of Austin<\/strong>, a local Austin Facebook Fan Club that
\nparticipates in holding watch parties, bound together by the love of \u201cDoctor
\nWho\u201d and living the values shared as Doctor Who fans.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Doctor Who Fans Unite<\/strong>, created to bring together fans of the long time running
\ntelevision show Doctor Who and, in following with the beliefs of the main
\ncharacter, its mission is to serve the community as a group.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Fleet 31<\/strong>, a free-to-join, international \u201cStar Trek\u201d fan organization, with an
\nemphasis on charity and having fun. It seeks to provide a community to all \u201cStar
\nTrek\u201d fans, as well as resources for those wanting costumes and
\nprops.
\n\u00b7 Ghostbusters ATX<\/strong>, made up of a group of individuals
\nwho share a common enthusiasm for the 1984 classic Ghostbusters. It hopes to
\nspread joy and build a better community through common love of this film.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Heroes and Villains of Cosplay (HAVOC<\/strong>), a cosplay and
\ngaming community that promotes, supports, and participates at a variety of
\ncharity and public events. Its goal is to entertain as various Cosplay
\ncharacters and provide smiles to patrons.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Ikkicon<\/strong>, a Japanese Animation and Pop-Culture Convention, held annually in Austin, which traditionally runs for three days during the beginning of the calendar year,
\npriding itself in bringing together the most amazing anime and pop-culture
\nfans.
\n\u00b7 Knights of the Alamo (KOTA)<\/strong>, a Star Wars community
\nof fans and costumers who volunteer, perform saber demonstrations, conduct Star
\nWars related panels, and take pictures with fans.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Lone Star Jedi \/ Lone Star Jedi Dallas<\/strong>, a community charity organization made up of volunteer Battle Saber Enthusiasts that originated deep in the heart of Central
\nTexas. We learn and teach saber combat and use those skills to perform shows and
\nother events.
\n\u00b7 Punching the Walls of Reality<\/strong>, which has weekly videos and podcasts as well as articles. If you\u2019re a writer, artist, or really anyone who has something interesting to say, we\u2019d be more than happy to conduct an interview and give you some free press.
\n\u00b7 Rebel Legion Kessel Base<\/strong>, an international Star Wars costuming organization created
\nby, of and for people interested in creating costumes from the Star Wars mythos.
\nMembers research, create, build and improve costumes and share skills, tips and
\nideas.
\n\u00b7 The Revenant Rangers<\/strong>, a Steampunk group that makes
\nprops for movies and costumes, helps to promote steampunk community events, and
\nparticipates in fund raisers for various charities. They will have their “Brass
\nBison Saloon” set up for pictures.
\n\u00b7 Sith Shadow Council of Texas<\/strong>, a Star Wars fan group that uses costuming, lightsaber combat, and a love of all things Star Wars to raise money for charity.

\nSpace City Con<\/strong>, the Gulf Coast’s newest fan culture convention and
\nfamily entertainment pop culture expo for all ages. For fans of comics, sci-fi,
\nfantasy, gaming, literature and art.
\n\u00b7 The Steam Engine Intrepid<\/strong>, a renegade steampunk group out of San Antonio, Texas, but with scouts in other cities, which prefers to travel by rail because the thought
\nof an airship sickens its leader, the Dark Professor.
\n\u00b7 USS Joan Of Arc<\/strong>, an active and spirited \u201cStar Trek\u201d \/ Sci-Fi group, always using
\nfriendship, a forward-thinking, positive attitude and fun community service to
\nlay the groundwork for a bright future similar to what Star Trek’s creator, Gene
\nRoddenberry, envisioned over 40 years ago.
\n\u00b7 USS Navras<\/strong>, the flagship chapter of the 1701st Fleet, a worldwide \u201cStar Trek\u201d fan organization. From charity work to gaming, from public appearances to appearances at
\nchildren’s hospitals, the 1701st Fleet proudly lives up to its slogan of \u201cGo
\nBoldly… or Go Home.\u201d
\n\u00b7 USS Zavala<\/strong>, a meeting chapter of STARFLEET International which actively fund raises or volunteers for Toys for Tots, the Houston Area Women\u2019s Center and other charities its members care about.<\/p>\n

Eisner Award Hall of Famer Stan Lee, Norman Reedus of \u201cThe Walking
\nDead,\u201d WWE\u00ae Superstar John Cena\u00ae and \u201cStar Trek\u201d captains William Shatner and
\nScott Bakula are among the top celebrities scheduled to attend Wizard World
\nAustin Comic Con.\u00a0 The standout roster will also include Bruce Campbell of Evil
\nDead, Erica Durance of \u201cSmallville\u201d and \u201cSaving Hope,\u201d Jewel Staite of
\n\u201cFirefly,\u201d The Karate Kid Ralph Macchio, \u201cMachete Kills\u201d director Robert
\nRodriguez and many others.\u00a0 It is the eighth and final event in the 2013 series
\nproduced by Wizard World, Inc. (OTCBB: WIZD) and will also feature a top-drawer
\ncollection of well-known artists and writers and a variety of activities,

\n\u201cDaredevil\u201d).<\/p>\n

Wizard World Comic Con events bring together thousands of
