The shows also release<br \/>\nconvention and renaissance festival reports.<br \/>\n<strong>\u00b7 Austin Toy Museum<\/strong>, a professional organization dedicated to the preservation and<br \/>\neducation of the cultural significance of toys, consisting primarily of action<br \/>\nfigures, key comic books, and popular character toys from the 1950&#8217;s to the<br \/>\nearly 1990&#8217;s.<br \/>\n<strong>\u00b7 Ark Ange<\/strong>l, the local Austin-based chapter of STARFLEET, which has provided \u201cStar Trek\u201d fans a way to meet each other, make friends, have fun, give back to their communities, and show that the dream of Gene Roddenberry can live long and prosper.<br \/>\n<strong>\u00b7 Battlestar Raven<\/strong>, serves as Battlestar Galactica Fan Club&#8217;s Flagship Chapter. It<br \/>\nis a fan driven website dedicated to \u201cBattlestar Galactica\u201d and fans from all<br \/>\nseries are welcome to join.<br \/>\n<strong>\u00b7 Central Texas Droids<\/strong>, a local branch of the R2-D2 Builders Club, using the web as a common means to gather information, share thoughts and ideas with one common goal&#8230; to build its very own life size Astromech Droid.<br \/>\n<strong>\u00b7 Central Texas Galactic Alliance<\/strong>, a Star Wars fan group, formerly the Austin Fan Force, which focuses on costuming and going to local events and participates in various<br \/>\ncharities.<br \/>\n<strong>\u00b7 DFW Ghostbusters<\/strong>, a non profit fan group that brings together fans of the 80&#8217;s blockbuster film. It assists and encourages members to build screen accurate props and do public appearances.<br \/>\n<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00b7 Doctor Who Fan Club of Austin<\/strong>, a local Austin Facebook Fan Club that<br \/>\nparticipates in holding watch parties, bound together by the love of \u201cDoctor<br \/>\nWho\u201d and living the values shared as Doctor Who fans.<br \/>\n<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00b7 Doctor Who Fans Unite<\/strong>, created to bring together fans of the long time running<br \/>\ntelevision show Doctor Who and, in following with the beliefs of the main<br \/>\ncharacter, its mission is to serve the community as a group.<br \/>\n<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00b7 Fleet 31<\/strong>, a free-to-join, international \u201cStar Trek\u201d fan organization, with an<br \/>\nemphasis on charity and having fun. It seeks to provide a community to all \u201cStar<br \/>\nTrek\u201d fans, as well as resources for those wanting costumes and<br \/>\nprops.<br \/>\n<strong>\u00b7 Ghostbusters ATX<\/strong>, made up of a group of individuals<br \/>\nwho share a common enthusiasm for the 1984 classic Ghostbusters. It hopes to<br \/>\nspread joy and build a better community through common love of this film.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00b7 Heroes and Villains of Cosplay (HAVOC<\/strong>), a cosplay and<br \/>\ngaming community that promotes, supports, and participates at a variety of<br \/>\ncharity and public events. Its goal is to entertain as various Cosplay<br \/>\ncharacters and provide smiles to patrons.<br \/>\n<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00b7 Ikkicon<\/strong>, a Japanese Animation and Pop-Culture Convention, held annually in Austin, which traditionally runs for three days during the beginning of the calendar year,<br \/>\npriding itself in bringing together the most amazing anime and pop-culture<br \/>\nfans.<br \/>\n<strong>\u00b7 Knights of the Alamo (KOTA)<\/strong>, a Star Wars community<br \/>\nof fans and costumers who volunteer, perform saber demonstrations, conduct Star<br \/>\nWars related panels, and take pictures with fans.<br \/>\n<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00b7 Lone Star Jedi \/ Lone Star Jedi Dallas<\/strong>, a community charity organization made up of volunteer Battle Saber Enthusiasts that originated deep in the heart of Central<br \/>\nTexas. We learn and teach saber combat and use those skills to perform shows and<br \/>\nother events.<br \/>\n<strong>\u00b7 Punching the Walls of Reality<\/strong>, which has weekly videos and podcasts as well as articles. If you\u2019re a writer, artist, or really anyone who has something interesting to say, we\u2019d be more than happy to conduct an interview and give you some free press.<br \/>\n<strong>\u00b7 Rebel Legion Kessel Base<\/strong>, an international Star Wars costuming organization created<br \/>\nby, of and for people interested in creating costumes from the Star Wars mythos.<br \/>\nMembers research, create, build and improve costumes and share skills, tips and<br \/>\nideas.<br \/>\n<strong>\u00b7 The Revenant Rangers<\/strong>, a Steampunk group that makes<br \/>\nprops for movies and costumes, helps to promote steampunk community events, and<br \/>\nparticipates in fund raisers for various charities. They will have their &#8220;Brass<br \/>\nBison Saloon&#8221; set up for pictures.<br \/>\n<strong>\u00b7 Sith Shadow Council of Texas<\/strong>, a Star Wars fan group that uses costuming, lightsaber combat, and a love of all things Star Wars to raise money for charity.<br \/>\n<strong>\u00b7<br \/>\nSpace City Con<\/strong>, the Gulf Coast&#8217;s newest fan culture convention and<br \/>\nfamily entertainment pop culture expo for all ages. For fans of comics, sci-fi,<br \/>\nfantasy, gaming, literature and art.<br \/>\n<strong>\u00b7 The Steam Engine Intrepid<\/strong>, a renegade steampunk group out of San Antonio, Texas, but with scouts in other cities, which prefers to travel by rail because the thought<br \/>\nof an airship sickens its leader, the Dark Professor.<br \/>\n<strong>\u00b7 USS Joan Of Arc<\/strong>, an active and spirited \u201cStar Trek\u201d \/ Sci-Fi group, always using<br \/>\nfriendship, a forward-thinking, positive attitude and fun community service to<br \/>\nlay the groundwork for a bright future similar to what Star Trek&#8217;s creator, Gene<br \/>\nRoddenberry, envisioned over 40 years ago.<br \/>\n<strong>\u00b7 USS Navras<\/strong>, the flagship chapter of the 1701st Fleet, a worldwide \u201cStar Trek\u201d fan organization.
