{"id":9611,"date":"2014-01-13T16:48:09","date_gmt":"2014-01-13T21:48:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/geekstronomy.com\/?p=9611"},"modified":"2014-01-13T16:48:09","modified_gmt":"2014-01-13T21:48:09","slug":"transmissions-bitten-sinks-its-teeth-into-syfys-monday-night-lineup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/geekstronomy.com\/?p=9611","title":{"rendered":"Transmissions: Bitten Sinks Its Teeth into Syfy&#8217;s Monday Night Lineup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Times New Roman;\">We here a Geekstronomy have been given the opportunity to preview another<span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Times New Roman;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/geekstronomy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/NUP_160222_0001.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-9613\" style=\"width: 398px;\" alt=\"Bitten\" src=\"https:\/\/geekstronomy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/NUP_160222_0001.jpg\" width=\"1000\" height=\"97\" \/><\/a><\/span> of the Syfy\u2019s brand new series, Bitten, which premieres tonight Monday, January 13<sup><span style=\"font-size: small;\">th<\/span><\/sup>.\u00a0 Bitten is based on the novel of the same name written by best-selling author Kelley Armstrong and stars Laura Vandervoort(Smallville) as Elena Michaels, the lone female werewolf in existence. <!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Times New Roman;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Life isn\u2019t easy in the big city, but to Elena Michaels, the struggle is well worth all the effort.\u00a0 Vowing never to return to her werewolf pack family, Elena has settled in Toronto as a photographer.\u00a0 It\u2019s been over a year and a half since she left her old life behind and moved in with her boyfriend Philip (played by Paul Greene). She is close to obtaining a life that she has longed for but her supernatural circumstances threaten to destroy what little she has gained.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Times New Roman;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Times New Roman;\">Things only get worse when Elena receives a phone call out of the blue.\u00a0 It is Jeremy Danvers (played by Greg Bry<span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Times New Roman;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/geekstronomy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/NUP_160147_0012.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9614\" style=\"width: 334px;\" alt=\"Bitten - Season 1\" src=\"https:\/\/geekstronomy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/NUP_160147_0012.jpg\" width=\"646\" height=\"371\" \/><\/a><\/span>k) her old wolf pack alpha ordering her return to Stonehaven.\u00a0 Dead bodies are showing up on pack territory and it looks like wolves are responsible. The existence of werewolves may be exposed jeopardizing Elena\u2019s hopes for living a normal human life.\u00a0 The reasons Elena left in the first place still haunt her, including her werewolf ex-boyfriend Clayton (played by Greyson Holt).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Times New Roman;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Times New Roman;\">Fans of the book will notice that the story doesn\u2019t follow the first book very closely with only about 40 percent of what was in the novel actually making to the screen. For example the first two episodes only highlight about the first third of the book.
