Equipment: Captain Action Takes on DC Comics with Batman, Superman and More!

When I hit Toy Fair 2014 I knew I had to see the guys from Captain Action.IMG_6431 I have a really soft spot in my heart for Captain Action since when I was a kid I “inherited” my cousin Anthony’s Captain Action collection. Today, Captain Action is the only fully poseable 12 inch action figure that is affordable. Most 12 inch figures of similar design are priced out of the range for the casual collector or for the person (like me) who plays with their toys.

The beauty about Captain Action is that he can become any other hero with a quick costume change. Already available are heroes from Marvel Comics such as Iron Man, Thor and Captain America which all look amazing. Now the folks at Captain Action Enterprises are producing costumes from DC Comics which hasn’t been done since the 1960’s. Coming out this year are Classic Batman, Superman, The Joker and Braniac. The build a costume will be (according to what I heard) will be Aquaman.

We are very excited about these but anything Captain Action makes the little kid in me jump for joy! Check out the photos and keep an eye out for updates about release dates and any other Captain Action news!

  1. Rann says:

Very good to see all this Silver Age DC goodness…and it looks as though the Round2 folks may have resolved the oversized, bobble-head mask problem that ruined most of the first line of Marvel costume sets?

Also, one hero/one villain, this time…4 figures + BAF, not 6 + BAF like the previous Marvel line? Probably a better idea. So glad to see a Silver Age Brainiac instead of another Lex!

I may have to give this line a second look…too bad the new Cap Action base figures all have forearms exactly .25″ too long. Fixable, but a hassle.

  2. Can’t wait to get these. Batman and Superman CA costumes were my faves back in the 60’s. So how long do we have to wait for Wonder Woman, Cat Woman, Batgirl, Supergirl etc?
