E.V.A.: Hasbro Press Day at Toy Fair

Hasbro’s preview day gave fans/press the first looks at some of the great things coming out for 2012. First off was G.I. Joe. With the next G.I. Joe film coming out this summer, 2012’s line is geared toward that release. The 3 ¾ inch figures include great looking sculpts of the film’s stars including Bruce Willis and Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson. Hasbro is focusing on the 3 ¾ inch scale for everything G.I. Joe Retaliation. The only deviation is two 10 inch figures with fighting action. The two figures are Snake Eyes (of course) and Roadblock. The line also features a newly designed H.I.S.S. tank as well some motorcycles and a plane.

The Star Wars line features not only some new figures and vehicles but some cool accessories as well. Hasbro is introducing figures with light up lightsabers. The highlight has to be the SDCC exclusive Jar Jar Binks in carbonite!

The Marvel section had stuff from not only the upcoming Avengers movie but the Spider-Man reboot as well; including a first look at the Lizard figure. One of the most impressive things in the Marvel area had to be the Heli-carrier vehicle for the Avengers line. That was one big toy!

Transformers has so much product coming out that it will need its own article so keep a watch out for that. Transformers has action figures not only from the new video game The Fall of Cybertron but figures for the theme park ride at Universal. There is so much to keep fans happy.

Speaking of tie-ins the new Battleship movie based on the board game has tons of t-shirts and similar merchandise hitting shelves soon. There are also movie versions of the game and a game called Battleship Live. This game has motion technology that allows you so send planes on recon missions to the enemy side of the board. It is pretty cool!

The offerings at the Nerf section just some of the same stuff already on shelves. The two newer blasters, the Lumatron and the Rayven CS-18 were the main ones that they were demonstrating. There is big news on the horizon for Nerf with the N-Strike Elite line but there were none on hand to see. Very disappointing.
