Vids: Burst Angel

Crime has run rampant in Japan. So rampant that it has become necessary for a specialty police force to be formed call RAPT. But with the sudden emergence of mutants and monsters from within the very city RAPT protects, a small mercenary group is enlisted to help with the investigation.

With agility and grace Jo bursts into the scene guns blazing. Able to dish out ten times what she takes chasing down her targets, Jo makes up the muscle of this mercenary group. Right beside her is the trusty backup/sidekick Meg, more loyal to Jo then any dog could ever be. Big monsters however require big guns, and guns don’t get bigger then the pair Jo uses when she pilots the robotic suit dubbed Django.

Totally hot and with all the bank to get whatever she wants, Sei is the one giving orders. She makes up the boobs, I mean leader of the outfit and is Granddaughter to the leader of the Bailan group (whom are helping RAPT keep the peace). Rounding out the group is Amy, the tec guru and super genius. She helps locate and track the targets needing to be nullified. A hacker at heart, she fills the role of cute teenage nerd girl.
Things aren’t turning out to be as easy as mercenary work should be. On several occasions, the eliminated monsters have strange glowing brains. RAPT forces are making strange moves to cover up. Coincidence? The evidence is piling up. Something fishy is going on and it looks like it may be connected to Jo’s forgotten past.

24 episodes long, it really only has half of the episodes dealing with the main storyline. A few deal with some of the past for each of the girls but some also feel as if they are nothing more then filler episodes. Speedy action filled gun battles and general badassness of Jo kept me entertained through the main story. Fan service and fantastic use of artistic style helped keep me interested through some of the filler. The story itself regrettably hovers around a festering turd named Kyohei, a chef hired to feed the team. He has no other role then to be a whiny bastard that needs to be taken out back and shot. If you can manage to filter the few dumb things out, the story isn’t half bad and the ending is satisfactory.

D- Trash. Not even worth having on as background noise.
