Motor City Comic Con, Michigan’s longest and largest comic and pop-culture event, is pleased to announce for The Christopher Reeve Legacy Reunion, Presented by The Caped Wonder Superman Podcast, will take place at this year’s convention which is running May 13-15th at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, MI. A reunion this large, is the first of its kind, and will feature stars from all 4 Superman films along with writer and artist from the Superman ’78 DC Comic Series. In addition, an exclusive limited edition variant cover of Superman ’78 will be available only at the Motor City Comic Con, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. The Christopher Legacy Reunion adds to the recently announced guests including William Shatner, Christopher Eccleston, Brenton Thwaites, and Alan Ritchson at the 2022 Motor City Comic Con. 35 years after his final flight in Superman IV, the love and admiration for Christopher Reeve both on screen and for his legacy, continues to be stronger than ever. This has been in inspiration to create this legacy reunion for Motor City Comic Con and The Caped Wonder Superman Podcast, which is hosted by Detroit TV/Radio host, Jay Towers and CapedWonder.com Superman Imagery Founder, Jim Bowers.
The Christopher Reeve Legacy Reunion will feature the following stars from the Superman films, Aaron Smolinski, Marc McClure, Sarah Douglas, Jack O’Halloran, Mark Pillow, and Mariel Hemingway, who will all be available for individual autographs ($40) and professional photo ops by Pose Photos for ($40) each, a Superman Legacy Reunion Photo Op with the entire group for ($150), and a Super Villain Photo Op featuring Sarah Douglas, Jack O’Halloran, and Mark Pillow for ($90). Also appearing at the legacy reunion, from the Superman 78’ DC Comic Series, writer Robert Venditti and artist Wilfredo Torres.
Aaron Smolinski made his acting debut at the age of 3 playing Baby Clark Kent in Superman. He returned in Superman II & Superman III. In addition, he has appeared in several Films, TV shows and made for TV movies including Outer Limits, MVP, Someone to Love Me, Wes Craven’s Don’t Look Down, Wishmaster 3, Ice Angel, Gallows Hill, Viper, JAG, Mysterious Ways, Dead Man’s Gun, Night Man, Poltergeist: The Legacy and many others. Aaron has a featured cameo in Man Of Steel and is the only actor to appear in Superman The Movie and Man of Steel.
Marc McClure is best known for his role as Jimmy Olsen in the 1978 film Superman, and its sequels, Superman II, Superman III, Superman IV: The Quest for Peace and in the 1984 spinoff film Supergirl. McClure played Marty McFly’s older brother in the Back to the Future films. In a nod to his Superman feature film work, McClure appeared on the CW’s Smallville. McClure appeared as Dax-Ur, a Kryptonian scientist who has been living on Earth for over 100 years. He also appeared in a cameo role in both versions of Justice League.
Sarah Douglas is perhaps best known for playing the Kryptonian supervillain Ursa in Superman and Superman II. Her other prominent roles include that of the evil Queen Taramis in the film Conan the Destroyer, and Pamela Lynch in the 1980s primetime drama series Falcon Crest. Sarah has recently become known to a new generation for her role as Mrs. Averill in the Netflix films A Christmas Prince , A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding and A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby.
Jack O’Halloran is a famed heavyweight boxer and actor. In the ring, he notched seventeen knockouts over the span of a winning career. He later turned to a career in acting, notably appearing as NON in Superman and Superman II. Jack has been in countless films including King Kong, March or Die, Dragnet, and the 1976 adaptation of Raymond Chandler’s Farewell, My Lovely. He currently lives in Los Angeles, where he remains active in the film industry and is hard at work on his second novel.
Mark Pillow is known for playing Nuclear Man in Superman IV, the last villain to be defeated by Superman in the Christopher Reeve Film Legacy. He went on to act in the film Wiseguy, and Alaska Kid. Mark is a fine wine representative where he is privileged to be associated with some of the finest and most prestigious wines in the world.
Mariel Hemingway’s paternal grandparents were Hadley Richardson and Nobel Prize–laureate novelist Ernest Hemingway. She he received Academy and BAFTA Award nominations for her performance in Manhattan. Mariel is also known for her leading roles in Personal Best and Star 80. She was featured in Superman IV: The Quest for Peace as Lacy Warfield. Subsequently, released additional footage showed an expansion of her role. Mariel has starred in and co-produced videos and written books about yoga and holistic living and continues to act.
Robert Venditti is a New York Times best-selling author whose characters and concepts have been adapted to film, television, and video games. He saw Superman II when he was seven years old and instantly became a lifelong fan. Venditti has written hundreds of comics and graphic novels for Disney, Valiant Entertainment, DC Comics, and others. His most recent projects include World of Krypton and Superman ’78, an all-new story set in the universe of the original Superman films.

Wilfredo Torres is an American Cartoonist and Illustrator based in Atlanta. Wilfredo has been working professionally for over a decade and in that time has collaborated with some of the most acclaimed and prolific Writers in Comics and has been the Artist on books such as SUPERMAN ’78 (DC Comics) BANG! (Dark Horse Comics) BLACK HAMMER: THE QUANTUM AGE, JUPITERS CIRCLE, THE SHADOW: YEAR ONE as well as BLACK PANTHER, LEGION and MOON KNIGHT (Marvel Comics)
Another first of its kind at this 2022 event, will be a Motor City Comic Con Exclusive Limited Edition “Variant Cover” of SUPERMAN ’78 #1. This comic book will feature a unique cover that is an exclusive to this edition, and only available at Motor City Comic Con. A portion of proceeds from the comic book will benefit The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, which is dedicated to curing spinal cord injury by funding innovative research and improving the quality of life for individuals and families impacted by paralysis.
The Suburban Collection Showplace has over 371,000 square feet of exhibit floor creating room for con attendees’ favorite events, including Cosplay Contest, After-Party and much more. Returning and new attractions, along with guest announcements will be announced leading up to the Comic Con.
An added convenience feature for guests to avoid the long admission lines, will be RFID wristbands! RFID wristbands are available for purchase and mailed to homes for an additional $15 fee. Fans who purchase these RFID wristbands and have them mailed prior to the con will not have to wait in any lines before entering the convention and get a faster start to their Motor City Comic Con experience. This option allows guests to skip registration by simply putting on the wristband before entering the show.
