Special Report: Trends in Facebook Pages…Your Pet Has More Friends Than You

Facebook has many different kinds of pages for users to look at. You can find pages for animals, religion, support groups, TV Shows and more. Pet parents have also made Facebook pages for their pets as a way to meet new people. Cat lovers from all over the world meet each other under their pet’s names and become friends. The pet community is a tight and loving family that will help each other in need. An illness, a loss or a gain are all shared with the community. If an animal passes away, it is almost as a funeral is being held and posts are made commemorating the animal that has passed. Pet parents start Chip-ins for their pets when they need help with medical expenses or other related financial issues. Friends will donate money to help out when they can and once the pet parent can they also donate to others.

My cat has his own Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/MisterEandTheKitties. I write about life from my cat’s point of view. I talk about what trouble he is causing, fights occurring, new toys bought and anything that is going on with the other cats that I have here. Mister E has a best friend in Texas named Hobbes https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hobbes-aka-Stinky-the-Cat/197213033657954?ref=ts. Hobbes sent Mister E treats and toys for Christmas this year. We have exchanged Christmas and Valentine’s Day cards and we “moms” are friends on Facebook. Hobbes is also known as the matchmaker on Facebook. Yes, cats have girlfriends and boyfriends online too! He also lets everyone know when there are new pages that would like more friends.

Hobbes and Mister E are friends with Fatboy Babushka https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fatboy-Babushka/181417711936357?ref=ts. Fatboy makes humorous videos and he has a Zazzle.com account http://www.zazzle.com/fatboysboutique. The money that is made from the items sold is used for any chip-ins or kitties in need. This is just the tip of the iceberg of that happens in the kitty community on Facebook. When my cat Gallie was hit by a car and I had to make the decision to humanely euthanize her, I had so much support from my online kitty and doggy friends. They helped me get through a really tough time. Right now, everyone in the community is pulling for Wyatt the Greybie who is in poor health.

No matter what happens, we will all be there for Wyatt and his parents. We understand what it is like to go through these tough times and we will support each other in good times and bad! Many people do not know that these communities exist on Facebook but they are huge and are growing every day. If you love cats and dogs, these will be some interesting pages to look at!
