Motor City Comic Con (MC3), Michigan’s largest and longest running comic book and pop culture convention since 1989, is thrilled to announce that actors Will Poulter, Clark Gregg and Steve Cardenas will be appearing at this year’s convention. Poulter, known for his roles in We’re The Millers, Detroit, The Maze Runner, and Why Didn’t They Ask Evans?, Gregg, known for his roles in The Avengers, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and The New Adventures of Old Christine and Cardenas, known for his role as the Red Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers will delight audiences and be available for autographs and professional photo opportunities at the Con. The annual Motor City Comic Con returns for the 34th year and will take place May 19-21, at the Suburban Collection Showplace located at 46100 Grand River Ave. in Novi, Michigan. The Kid’s Den schedule is now available online and includes FREE activities for kids to do throughout the weekend including art classes, craft time, cosplay, games, and story time.
The Anime Room film schedule is now available online and includes a listing of FREE screenings that will be shown Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
A variety of celebrities are offering autograph presales. Guests who pre-order their autographs will be able to pick them up at their convenience anytime during the convention by simply bringing their QR code confirmation ticket to the guest service table.
Guests are now able to register to participate in the annual Cosplay Contest which will be taking place on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 6:30pm. This contest is for interested adults and those wanting to participate must register in advance as limited spaces are available. Prizes include MC3 Fall Passes, Autographed Photos, Cash, and other exclusive MC3 goodies! In addition, a Children’s Cosplay Contest will be taking place on Sunday, May 21. There is no advance registration or entrant fee required for the children’s cosplay contest.
An exciting attraction available this year will be HADO AR, the world’s first techno sport which combines sports and gaming using augmented reality (AR) technology and creates a whole new dimension to the world of sports as we know it. Guests are now also able to book their HADO AR experience. Shoot orbs of energy in a high energy, tactical dodgeball style battle. Because it’s AR (as opposed to VR), players can see themselves (including their cosplay) within the game. Get a group of up to 6 people together an experience the world’s first physical e-sport at Motor City Comic Con this spring!
Motor City Comic Con, which hosts an annual spring and fall convention, will feature some of the largest actors from television, movies, and streaming platforms, along with the most creative artists, writers, and comic book creators in the industry. Motor City Comic Con will utilize over 371,000 square feet of the Suburban Collection Showplace, bringing once again one of the largest conventions in the Midwest. Throughout the weekend celebrity and comic guests participate in autographs and photo opportunities with attendees, for additional fees. Also, attendees can participate in various panel discussions, attractions, events, and explore various exhibitors throughout. Artists, writers, and illustrators will be featured throughout Artist Alley. In addition, there will be crafters that will have extraordinary gifts, crafts, and replicas available, and some of the largest comic book and multimedia dealers from across the country that offer a variety of merchandise including comics, toys, art, unique jewelry, clothing, memorabilia and much more!
Autographs are bought at the show and photo opportunities for each guest are available for purchase on the Motor City Comic Con website, along with tickets to the convention overall.
