Equipment: Unboxing Video and Review of the Devil May Cry Elder Twin Coat from Volante Design

Fans of Devil May Cry can now dress to impress with licensed products from Volante Design. If you have never heard of Volante Design, they create both licensed and original clothing creations for cosplay and everyday wear. Their high-end clothing is made to last and is some of the most beautiful attire that I have ever found.

Volante Design was started 10 years ago by David Volante who wanted to make products that weren’t only resilient but looked incredible. Just looking at what they have to offer I can say, “Achievement Unlocked!” David’s field of study and experience has translated into some absolutely outstanding, as they term it, Superhuman Streetwear.

Some of the officially licensed lines are Mass Effect, Lord of the Rings, Assassins Creed, Star Trek and Devil May Cry. It is the Elder Twin coat from the Devil May Cry line that we had the chance to review and we were just blown away.

If you aren’t familiar with Devil May Cry it was created by Hideki Kamiya and is a adventure video where the main character, Dante, fights to stop Earth from being invaded by demons. The game series was produced by Capcom and has 5 installments the last of which, Devil May Cry 5, was released in 2020. Devil May Cry has also spawned a very popular 12 episode anime. I have to admit that I have never played the game and had never seen the anime until I received this coat for review.

I know this is a Devil May Cry coat, but it would look great if you wanted to cosplay someone from Shadow and Bone, maybe something Steampunk or even just a pirate, this coat fits the bill. You are only limited by your imagination. Regardless of the character you choose, you are going to look great in this coat.

There is something about the right clothes. I have to admit I am a bit of a clothes horse. I enjoy looking good. For me, it is an instant mood lifter, even if I am just dressing for myself and not a specific event.

The Devil May Cry, Vergil Elder Twin Coat from Volante Design features:

  • Durable denim shell
  • Tailor fit sizing
  • Vergil’s signature sleeve embroidery
  • Triple strap cuff details
  • Two back vents for freedom of movement
  • Double breasted button closure
  • Two exterior pockets
  • Two interior pockets
  • Breathable moisture wicking lining
  • Dry clean
  • Made in USA

This coat style comes in two different colors with two different names. The Demonic Heritage coat is black with black accents and black thread. Basically, it is black on black on black. So if you have a cat you will have to keep your link brush handy.

The other is the Elder Twin which is dark navy with black accents and silver thread. Both versions are gorgeous. I chose the Elder Twin because I liked the contrast between the blue and the black.

If you decide to take the plunge follow Volante Design’s directions for measuring yourself or go to a tailor or seamstress to be measured. If measured correctly your new coat with fit like it was custom made for you. I think this is the closest I will ever come to a bespoke suit.

I really love this coat and I am looking forward to slightly cooler weather so I can wear it out and about. If long coats aren’t for you there are so many other styles and price ranges on the Volante Design website. Check it out and find one that is right for you.
