He received initial acclaim for his experimental electronic recordings, released via seminal imprint Planet Mu and championed by Mary Anne Hobbes. His debut artist album ‘Sleep Of Reason’ (Ninja Tune) was critically lauded by The Wire, Pitchfork and Drowned In Sound.

His electronic dexterity and classic songwriting sensibility have seen him become known and sought out for the enigmatic, emotive sound he has developed throughout his work as a composer scoring for film and television.

Raffertie was notably tapped by Michaela Coel to write original music for the award-winning series ‘I May Destroy You’ for HBO and BBC One. He has scored three seasons of the spy drama series ‘Alex Rider’ for Amazon and Sony Pictures Television, Paul Andrew Williams’ revenge thriller Bull and has most recently scored ‘The Continental’, the highly anticipated ‘John Wick’ prequel series produced by Lionsgate for Peacock.

His early ventures into the world of composition included EA Sports ‘SSX’, ITV drama ‘Strangers’ and BBC ‘Top Gear’. He has composed original music for advertisements including Daniel Wolfe’s ‘Colourless Future’, Nissan ‘Embrace The Myth’ and Channel 4’s award-winning ‘Born Risky’ campaign and has scored editorial and fashion films for brands including Vogue, Nike, Google and Gucci.
