We here at Geekstronomy are big fans of indie projects. Whether it is a movie, a book, a comic
book or a CD we want to do whatever we can to help up and coming talents. This time we have a very cool looking comic book called Lucious Blake and The Ivory City that is looking for backers on Kickstarter.
For those of you who are not familiar with Kickstarter it is a web-based pledge system that allows people to donate to various projects. You can check out the Kickstarter page for Lucious Blake here. Each pledge level brings a variety of bonuses ranging from autographed books to your likeness hand drawn in the back cover of your copy of the graphic novel; immortalizing you in comic form.
So you are wondering what this project is all about, aren’t you? From the Kickstarter page: “LUCIOUS BLAKE AND THE IVORY CITY is the story of a disillusioned teen angel who begins to transform into a man after he travels to a forbidden city to find answers to his mysterious past. The story is told through the lives of a teen angel and a group of classmates and takes place in a hidden academy near the Himalayan’s and in a city where citizens believe there hasn’t been a murder in 400 years.”
This is an opportunity not just for the creator to see his dream to come to fruition but it is a chance for an average person to become a benefactor for something potentially big. This is your chance to become a patron of the arts like a member of the Medici family in Renaissance Florence.
