Day one of New York Comic Con (NYCC) is in the books and damn am I exhausted. I am tooling around in wheelchair with someone pushing me and I am still fighting sleep at an early out…but hey it is convention time, sleep is irrelevant. Day one was crowded, almost Saturday packed but that is good for the fans and the vendors, so I guess it is a good thing. I have to say I miss when Thursday was open for press early in the day with the show opening for everyone around 4 o’clock but those days are gone.
Day one had use visiting Bandai which has multiple brands and all of the booths were filled with eager shoppers. Personally, I enjoyed the Gundam booth. Since there is s new Netflix series coming out it is pretty exciting. The booth had some great looking models, some of which could only be found in two places the convention and Japan. A definite bonus for fans.
The first day also was filled with cosplayers, which for me is one of the best things. I am a cosplayer myself so I can appreciate the work and effort that goes into each and every costume. No matter how simple.
Enjoy the photos from the first day and get ready for day two…we are and I just have to caffeine up in the A.M. I just hope it is enough.
