Lakeshore Records is set to release
Good Fortune—Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally today, October 17 with an original score by Oscar-nominated composer Carter Burwell (The Banshees of Inisherin). Burwell’s light-hearted score incorporates retro-sounding keys and synths and mixes them with strings and vocalizations to create a mischievously whimsical backdrop to the highly anticipated comedy. The Lionsgate film Good Fortune is playing in theaters now.
In GOOD FORTUNE, a well-meaning but rather inept angel named Gabriel (Keanu Reeves) meddles in the lives of a struggling gig worker (Aziz Ansari) and a wealthy venture capitalist (Seth Rogen).
Notes Burwell: “The story of Good Fortune walks a line between comedy and social commentary, and the score attempts to walk a similar line between playing the sincere emotions of the characters and commenting on the absurdity of their situations. I think the score is at its best when it’s doing both at the same time. In some areas of the film Aziz and I kept circling through these options right up to – and even after – the recording of the score.”
