Soundwaves: Dust Bunny Original Motion Picture Soundtrack from Lakeshore Records

Lakeshore Records set to release Dust Bunny—Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally today, December 19, with an original score by Emmyâ-nominated composer Isabella Summers (Little Fires Everywhere, Hitpig!). Summers deftly presents both the fantastical child’s point of view and the more sinister aspects of the film with her vividly orchestrated score. Lionsgate / Roadside Attractions film, starring Mads Mikkelsen, Sophie Sloan, Sheila Atim, David Dastmalchian, and Sigourney Weaver, is playing in theaters now. Written and directed by Bryan Fuller, the film is produced by Thunder Road Films’ Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee alongside Bryan Fuller.

In visionary creator Bryan Fuller’s (Hannibal, Pushing Daisies) fantastical and wickedly inventive feature directorial debut Dust Bunny, a 10-year-old girl joins forces with her hitman neighbor to confront each other’s monsters.

Ten-year-old Aurora has a mysterious neighbor (Mads Mikkelsen) who kills real-life monsters; he’s a hitman for hire. So, when Aurora needs help killing the monster that she believes ate her entire family, she procures his services. Suspecting that Aurora’s parents may have fallen victim to assassins gunning for him, the neighbor guiltily takes the job. To protect her, he’ll need to battle an onslaught of assassins and accept that some monsters are real.

Notes Summers: “I love to score storytelling. Music plays a such crucial role in setting the tone of anything cinematic. Establishing the atmosphere, and guiding the audience’s emotional responses is such a sixth sense to me, I feel like I have been seemingly already doing this in my artistry with writing and producing with singers in my prior career in a band xxx.

I love to create all sorts of sounds, so this movie was an absolute delight to score allowing me to explore themes of fear and the power of imagination… AN ABSOLUTE HONOUR TO SCORE THIS MOVIE I’M SO PROUD XXXXX.”
