Soundwaves: Milan Records Releases Widow’s Bay Apple Original Series Soundtrack By David Fleming

Milan Records today releases WIDOW’S BAY (APPLE ORIGINAL SERIES SOUNDTRACK) by award-winning composer DAVID FLEMING. Available everywhere now, the album features original music written by Fleming for Apple TV’s acclaimed horror comedy series starring Matthew Rhys. For the series, Fleming has crafted an atmospheric and orchestral score brimming with uneasy tension as the mystery lurking beneath the surface of the quaint island town unfolds. From creator and executive producer Katie Dippold and director and executive producer Hiro Murai, Widow’s Bay made its global debut on Wednesday, April 29 and new episodes will debut every Wednesday on Apple TV, with a special two-episode release set for Wednesday, May 27 – watch here.

Of the score, composer DAVID FLEMING says, “Curiosity and mystery are what pulled me into Widow’s Bay and are at the heart of the score. Creator Katie Dippold and director Hiro Murai have brought to life a town equal parts ominous and charming – a place that, despite its dark corners, you can’t help wanting to explore. When discussing music, Katie and I talked about the fun of a well-executed scare – how the shock of terror can have you screaming and laughing at the same time. With that in mind, I wanted the music to tap into the inseparable tonal blend of horror and comedy that makes Widow’s Bay so captivating.”

ABOUT WIDOW’S BAY

“Widow’s Bay” is a quaint island town 40 miles off the coast of New England. But something lurks beneath the surface. Mayor Tom Loftis (Matthew Rhys) is desperate to revive his struggling community. There’s no Wi-Fi, spotty cellular reception and he must contend with superstitious locals who believe their island is cursed. He wants these people to respect him. They don’t. They think he is soft and cowardly. And he is. But Loftis is determined to build a better future for his teenage son and turn the island into a tourist destination. Miraculously, he succeeds: tourists are finally coming. Unfortunately, the locals were right. After decades of calm, the old stories that seemed too ludicrous to be true, start happening again. “Widow’s Bay” blends genuine horror with character-driven comedy.
