Lakeshore Records announce the 
release of The Sheep Detectives—Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally today, May 8, featuring music by Emmy-winning composer Christophe Beck (Buffy the Vampire Slayer). Beck has a light touch with the orchestral themes that provide a whimsical yet energizing backdrop to the fantastical mystery narrative. The film starring Hugh Jackman, Emma Thompson, Nick Braun, Nick Galitzine and Molly Gordon as well as an all-star voice cast that includes Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston, Chris O’Dowd, Regina Hall, Patrick Stewart, Brett Goldstein and more, is in theaters now.
In this witty, new breed of mystery, George (Hugh Jackman) is a shepherd who reads detective novels to his beloved sheep every night, assuming they can’t possibly understand. But when a mysterious incident disrupts life on the farm, the sheep realize they must become the detectives. As they follow the clues and investigate human suspects, they prove that even sheep can be brilliant crime-solvers.
Notes Beck: “We knew we wanted to approach the film with sincerity and whimsy, balancing heartfelt themes with quirky instrumentation. The score brings out the mystery and gravitas of what the characters are going through while also exploring themes of belonging, loss, and maturation as our characters learn to navigate the outside world.”

Christophe Beck is a world-renowned film and TV composer who has defined the sound of iconic action epics, comedies, and dramas, and whose soundtracks to Oscar, Golden Globe, and Emmy-winning IP have achieved platinum status, sold millions of copies, and reigned No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Album chart. Beck is equally at home with high-profile blockbusters like Marvel’s Paul Rudd led Ant Man trilogy, and with powerful dramas like Davis Guggenheim’s Waiting for Superman or Shana Feste’s Endless

Beck’s music extends further into award winning documentary films such as Red Army and the Netflix produced docuseries Arnold. He’s crafted deep sonic worlds for fantasy adventures Percy Jackson and the Lighting Thief, and the Oscar-nominated animated Netflix feature Nimona, among many others. Beck is also unforgettable as the composer of the mega-hit studio franchise The Hangover. Most recently, Beck wrote music for Amazon MGM’s action comedy The Sheep Detectives starring Bryan Cranston and Hugh Jackman.
The Canadian composer studied music at Yale and attended the USC film scoring program under the tutelage of composers such as Jerry Goldsmith. He started composing in television at the personal recommendation of Disney music legend Buddy Baker.
