Lakeshore Records announces the
release of The Legend of Vox Machina: Season 4—Prime Original Series Soundtrack which will be released in a series of 3-episode EPs to mirror the rollout of the series. The first EP is available digitally today June 5 (episodes 1-3), and subsequent EPs will be available on June 12 (episodes 4-6) and June 19 (episodes 7-9). The tracks will be collected in a full album to be released on June 26. The soundtrack to the fourth season of the adult animated fantasy-adventure series based on beloved characters and stories from the world of Critical Role once again showcases a thrilling vivid orchestral score by Neal Acree and riotously indecent songwriting by Sam Riegel and Habib. The series, a production of Amazon Studios, Critical Role and Titmouse, is streaming globally on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
The Legend of Vox Machina Season Four is set a year after the Chroma Conclave. Vox Machina has separated, searching for love, family, and purpose. But as always, the call of adventure is a breath away. When a long-slumbering evil awakens to threaten the realm, they must reunite to take on an epic foe.
The Legend of Vox Machina is an Amazon MGM Studios, Critical Role, and Titmouse production for Prime Video. The series stars Critical Role founders and cast members Laura Bailey (The Last of Us: Part II), Taliesin Jaffe (World of Warcraft), Ashley Johnson (The Last of Us), Matthew Mercer (Baldur’s Gate 3), Liam O’Brien (Marvel’s Avengers), Marisha Ray (Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft), Sam Riegel (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), and Travis Willingham (Dispatch). The Critical Role cast also serves as executive producers alongside Chris Prynoski (Metalocalypse), Shannon Prynoski (Fairfax), and Ben Kalina (Big Mouth) of Titmouse.
The cast also features previously announced voice actors Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings), Wayne Brady (The Wayne Brady Show, Whose Line Is It Anyway?), Kevin Michael Richardson (Lilo & Stitch, Kamek in The Super Mario Bros. Movie), Debra Wilson (Destiny 2, Star Wars: Survivor), Tom Cardy (composer, actor), Sara Ramirez (Grey’s Anatomy), and Mindy Sterling (Austin Powers, The Legend of Korra).
Notes Acree: “New beginnings, new faces and dark whispers from the past. The score for The Legend of Vox Machina season 4 expands on some musical seeds that were planted all the way back in season 1 as well as takes things in some wild new directions. A tango, a suite of boisterous big band music and a little death metal round out the usual sweeping orchestral score. This series never ceases to exercise every musical muscle I have and move me like nothing else.”
Adds Riegel “Fans are thirsty for the epic, sweeping, and sometimes hilarious score and musical numbers that make The Legend of Vox Machina stand out among adult animated series. We are thrilled to deliver the soundtrack for Season 4 in real time, as the series is released. Folks will be able to stream this music right when each episode debuts. So crank up Neal Acree’s incredible orchestral compositions, and rock out to the ridiculousness of mine and Habib’s character songs. As one of our favorite tunes boasts, this soundtrack is meant to F–k S–t Up!”
Adds Habib: “As the stakes increase and the action intensifies for our lovable heroes; Sam and I had plenty of opportunities to explore a wide variety of musical genres this season. Episode 1 kicks off with a Grog barstool sing-along and as the story progresses, we indulge in Rap Rock, Metal, Musical Theatre, Psychedelic Rock, Lounge, and Acoustic Pop.
Creating this season’s songs has been one wild, wonderful ride. We hope they carry you through every twist, every battle, and every beautifully chaotic moment this saga offers. Now stop reading and go listen!”
