The Art and Soul of Dune: Part Three

Legendary Publishing

Out December 22, 2026

From the mind of visionary director Denis Villeneuve—who brought Frank Herbert’s celebrated Dune novels to life on screen—this remarkable art book includes stunning concept art, storyboards, and set photography from the epic conclusion of the Dune movie trilogy.

Written by Stefanie Broos and Tanya Lapointe (a producer on all three Dune films, adn the author of the previous Art and Soul books), The Art and Soul of Dune: Part Three offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the filmmaking process and gives an intimate perspective on working with Villeneuve and his creative teams. This is a must-have for cinephiles and fans of Frank Herbert’s Dune alike.

Note that this is the only item on the list below that is not yet on-sale, and therefore faces some coverage embargoes. I am happy to discuss these further as it is sure to be one of the most anticipated entertainment nonfiction releases of the year.

Dune: Bene Gesserit Tarot Deck and Guide [Collector’s Edition]

Available exclusively from Insight, the richly detailed collector’s box is the true showpiece of this edition: a hand-painted, sculpted facsimile replica of the Bene Gesserit pain box, cast in polystone and meticulously detailed. This display-worthy object breathes new life into the world of Dune.

Each set also includes a hand-painted cast zamac facsimile of the Gom Jabbar, completing the iconic pairing at the heart of the Bene Gesserit’s most iconic trial. Together, these two artifacts make for a collector’s display unlike any other.

Dune: Exposures

During the shooting of Dune: Part One and Dune: Part Two, Greig Fraser went beyond standard unit photography and documented the filming process using still photography on a variety of cameras. This led the cinematographer on an unexpected creative journey that yielded an electrifying gallery of photographs. Meanwhile, Brolin, who plays Warmaster Gurney Halleck in the two films, shares his on-set experience through his vivid, poignant writing.

Brolin and Fraser developed a unique bond during production, solidifying a connection that led to this remarkable collaboration that seamlessly juxtaposes the actor’s enthralling writing with the cinematographer’s striking images.

An exceptional new way to experience life on the set of the Dune film adaptations, this thrilling ode to the art of filmmaking from two of the most revered artists in the industry is an unmissable publishing event.

Dune: Harkonnen Ornithopter [Collector’s Edition]

The Ornithopter is the most capable airborne craft in the Imperium, ideally suited for basic transportation tasks, search-and-rescue missions, and combat operations. The vessel is used to deliver troops around the surface of Arrakis and is ready to fire on the Harkonnens’ enemies from the skies.

Dune director Denis Villeneuve was careful to base the Ornithopters on author Frank Herbert’s original descriptions, visualising them as huge mechanical dragonflies. Ensuring incredible accuracy, this model is based on the original VFX files created for the films and features the Ornithopter in “flight” mode, with landing gear raised and fearsome guns deployed. Perfectly evoking the Ornithopters in the film, this 10.5-inch-long replica was digitally sculpted before being made in die-cast metal, then completed with high-quality ABS materials.
