October is that special time of year. The leaves change, the nights grow longer, the air has a chill and the veil between the worlds grows thinner. It is the time of year when there are voices in empty rooms, we see things out of the corner of our eye that aren’t really there and you can sense there is something otherworldly just around the corner. It is also the time of year when Syfy offers something special, 31 Days of Halloween.
Syfy will celebrate Halloween with its fourth annual 31 Days of Halloween fright fest showcasing more than 600 hours of holiday- themed programming, running October 1-October 31.
As always, the centerpiece of the month-long spook-a-thon will be Ghost Hunters Halloween Live on Monday, October 31 from 7PM-1AM/ET. This year, Jason, Grant and team members from both Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International will head to Pennhurst Asylum in Pennsylvania, a sprawling maze of buildings constituting a former state mental institution. Abandoned for decades, Pennhurst is now one of the country’s most notoriously haunted locales.
Dodge will sponsor 31 Days of Halloween with a fully integrated partnership featuring the 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan as the official vehicle. Once again, Hershey will be the participating sponsor with a continuous presence throughout October.
As an expansion of 31 Days of Halloween, Syfy will imagine a greater Halloween by sponsoring New York City’s holiday celebrations through a multi-media, on-the-ground partnership, 31 Days of HalloweeNYC, with NYC & Company, the city’s official marketing, tourism and partnership organization.
