Equipment: New Nerf Zombie Strike Coming from Hasbro

Zombies beware. This fall, Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS) offers NERF fans the ultimate in zombie protection and preparedness with the introduction of the NERF ZOMBIE STRIKE line. Inspired by the latest pop culture trends within graphic novels, film, and television, the collection allows members of NERF Nation to reenact favorite high-adrenaline zombie scenes, plan for epic battles against the undead, and hone the skills necessary to ensure the survival of the human race.

“Drawing on the popularity of pre-existing games created by NERF fans and the prevalence of zombies on screens big and small, the ZOMBIE STRIKE line fulfills a high demand for active, fantasy-based play,” says Michael Ritchie, Sr. Director, Global Brand Strategy and Marketing. “The full line will grow in 2014 to include blasters, bows, licensed gear and an interactive app, all equipped with the high-performance and innovative features the NERF brand is renowned for.”

The first two items in the 2013 ZOMBIE STRIKE lineup, the multi-shot SLEDGEFIRE blaster and the front loading HAMMERSHOT blaster, were on display at Hasbro’s booth at San Diego Comic-Con and officially landed on Target shelves around August 1. Product features unique to the ZOMBIE STRIKE line include the SLEDGEFIRE blaster’s triple dart shell-system which allows for simultaneous multi-shot blasting, the HAMMERSHOT blaster’s hammer system that enables easy, one-handed firing action, signature ZOMBIE STRIKE darts and new zombie-inspired deco.

Expanding in Spring 2014, the ZOMBIE STRIKE collection will become available nationwide and include additional blasters, a crossbow and a foam sword. Additionally, fans will be able to continue fighting the living dead digitally on Nerf.com and on mobile devices with the introduction of a new digital Nerf Zombie game, available in Spring 2014. ZOMBIE STRIKE blasters will give fans the confidence that when humans must inevitably rise up together and face the living dead, NERF Nation will prevail.
