E.V.A.: Glenn and Maggie Seen Together in the Same Building…Day Three of Walker Stalker Con

The last day of any con is a bit slow, so I expected Sunday to be, for lack of a beIMG_6746tter term, dead. To my surprise the line was still quite long to purchase tickets with people still coming in at 3:30 for tickets. I guess the guest list just kept drawing the crowds.

For me, this particular Sunday was a big day. It is always a blast zig-zagging through the crowds rushing from one guest to the next. My rush did payoff. I was able to meet up with some of the most popular of The Walking Dead cast including Lauren Cohan (Maggie), Steven Yeun (Glenn) and Michael Cudlitz (Abraham).  Each one was great to me. Taking time to talk and snap a photo.  Actually Steven took my camera so he could take a photo of us together. It was a very cool experience. The talent weren’t just nice to me, it was impressive just how nice they were with the fans.

I did notice that there were less cosplayers in attendance on Sunday than what were walking around on Saturday. There were however, a large number of small children. This surprised me since you would have thought small children would be afraid of the undead.  After all there are some adults with irrational fears of the undead. Face facts zombies are creepy and they can give people nightmares…not that it has ever happened to me.

The three days I spent at Walker Stalker Con were an absolute blast. I appreciated how they handled the press. Most conventions do not do much to make covering the event an easy task. They also treated the fan right. The feedback that I heard from fans was that meeting the guests was, for the most part a positive experience. The only negative feedback that I heard was that the V.I.P. meet and greet was a disappointment. From what I heard it started at 7p.m. and the stars didn’t show up until almost 7:45. I was also told that it was only 8 guests that showed up to meet with fans. I know I would have been disappointed had I attended the event. I have to say that one bad experience (or rumor of) did not taint my opinion of the show. I didn’t expect to like the con but I really enjoyed it as it seemed everyone else did as well.

The next Walker Stalker Con is in Atlanta, October 17-19. The guest list is already shaping up to be as stellar as the guest list for Chicago. I am half tempted to fly down and cover that event as well. Maybe you should plan to take a trip there as well. Check out the site for Walker Stalker Con and keep updated on the guest announcements.
