In Gotham City there are 3 types of people who wear a badge. 
The first type is the person who carries it for personal gain. The second type is the person who carries it because it gives them power over others. The third type are people like Lieutenant James Gordon (Ben McKenzie), someone who wants to uphold the law and defend their city.
The badge is either a symbol power or corruption depending who carries it and now it is your chance to carry one of your very own. Warner Brothers and DC Collectibles have release a prop replica of the Gotham City Police Department (GCPD) badge. This highly detailed and realistic looking badge looks just like the one Gordon and Bullock (Donal Logue) carry on the show.
This 1:1 scale prop replica is taken from the original prop mold from the show, Gotham. The badge is chrome plated metal and can be worn several different ways. The badge comes with a leather holder that has Velcro so you can attach it to your belt, a metal clip so you can attach it to your shirt or jacket pocket and the last way to wear the badge it to remove it from the holder and pin it directly to your uniform. You can go from patrolman to undercover cop depending on your mood.
This prop replica is absolutely gorgeous. If fell in love with this badge when it was on display at the International Toy Fair last February. I knew I had to have this badge because not only would it be a great addition to my pin collection and but it can be used for cosplay at conventions. Speaking of the cosplay aspect, this one small prop replica can actually be your costume. You can put on a suit, strap this to your belt and you are a Gotham City detective. Sounds to me like this costume idea is simple, inexpensive and bad ass, what more can you ask for?
The Gotham City Police badge measures approximately 3 ½ inches and is produced by DC Collectibles with a retail price for approximately $29.95. The only complaint I have is that the badge did not come with a ball chain similar to the ones that undercover cops have to wear their badges around their necks. The lack of chain really is a minor issue. You can get a chain to go with your badge from any hardware store. They aren’t that expensive and would give you another option on how to wear your badge.
