Another year and another Toy Fair under our belts, time truly does fly. This year was different because I had staff. Actually calling them staff almost seems like an insult since Rob Banks from The Red Cup Review and The Domination are so much more than just helpers. Giant shout outs to them both.
No matter how hard I work at Toy Fair I feel that I don’t get anything accomplished. The show is massive. I know that there are things I have never had the chance to see in the 7 years I have been attending. It would be nice if we had a full week at Toy Fair. That would work out for me, but I don’t think that the vendors would agree.
Speaking of vendors let’s start with one of our favorites, Diamond Select. The people over at DST are great to work with but what makes it better is the fact that Diamond produces incredible product. From statues to action figures I have never been disappointed by anything they have released. This year was no exception. From vinyl statues to minimates, to the ever amazing Marvel Select figures I couldn’t help but want everything they had to offer.
Aside from the usual superhero products, this year Diamond Select has the license for the Pacific Rim: Uprising movie due out this summer. The jaegers from this film look great, especially as toys. You will still have to wait a few weeks for them to hit the shelves but they are so very worth the wait.
I can also say that I was highly impressed with the figures from Thor: Ragnarok. The gladiator versions of both The Hulk and Thor look great and you don’t have to break the bank to own them. The Marvel Select figures have always been among my favorite figures to collect.
Keep your eyes peeled throughout the year for upcoming reviews of figures and statues from DST. In the meantime check out the photo gallery of all the geeky goodness Diamond has to offer.
Again shout out to Rob at The Red Cup Review on Youtube and to The Domination who you can follow on Instagram.
Stay Geeky my friends….
