Equipment: A Review of The Marvel Select Avengers: Infinity War Captain America figure from Diamond Select Toys

I have to say that it is very hard to review Marvel Select figures from Diamond. The problem is that Diamond produces quality figures at an affordable price and they usually are super poseable. So now with that off my chest lets dive into our review. Since Avengers: Endgame is just about a week away I thought reviewing an Avengers figure was a good idea. This time around we are evaluating the Captain America figure from Avengers: Infinity War.

The Marvel Select Captain America looks incredible. The head sculpt is a decent likeness of Chris Evans, although I can’t get used to Cap with a beard. Captain America’s uniform is, not surprisingly, the muted color on seen in the final battle in Wakanda. This color scheme, in my opinion, is the best uniform we have seen Cap wearing. The uniform he wore during the prison break scene, leather jacket, helmet and green BDUs is a close second.

The Marvel Select Captain America stands approximately 7 inches tall and comes with the following accessories:

• 3 Additional sets of hands (fist, grasping and slightly tensed.
• 2 Gauntlets
• 2 Shields which have a movable section to increase the length, slightly
• 1 Stand

The hands are a bit difficult to take off, which is a good thing since you wouldn’t want them just falling off the figure. Also regarding the hands, in order to remove the gauntlets you must remove the hands.

Captain America is highly poseable which is perfect for getting that “right pose.” The points of articulation for this figure are:
• Head
• Shoulders
• Chest
• Elbow (double)
• Wrists
• Hips
• Thighs
• Knees (double)
• Ankles
• Feet

This figure will look great on your shelf or on your desk but it would be best to actually play with this toy. Even if you don’t need “another” Captain America figure to assemble your Avengers you should pick this one up because it is worth owning.

The only problem that I have with this figure (I shouldn’t have opened by big mouth at the beginning of this review) is the spare hands. Actually the problem isn’t the hands themselves it is the paint job. I contacted Diamond to find out if this was isolated issue or a problem across production and according to Diamond this was a fluke, which is what I suspected.

The Marvel Select Avengers: Infinity War Captain America figure from Diamond Select Toys is available now with a SRP of $24.99. This figure is not recommended for children under 3 years of age.
