Inspired by Ruth E. Carter’s outstanding 
costume design, this jacket features striking angular lines of tonality and texture. Two fabrics, cotton canvas and a waxed cotton canvas, are pieced together to create depth. Each intricate line of the design is sewn in place and created by seams, not screenprinting. The end result is a work of wearable art that will transform your wardrobe and imbue you with the power to feel superhuman.

The winner’s jacket will be custom made to fit them in our Easthampton, MA studio. Shown here is the men’s cut. If you prefer our women’s cut, we will happily adjust the design to accommodate that preference. You can choose your thread color to customize the overall look of the finished jacket.

HOW THE AUCTION WORKS
Place your bids in increments of $25 on our Twitter auction thread. Auction closes at 4pm ET on Sunday, June 7.
If bidding reaches $2000, we will make TWO jackets for the top two bidders. If bidding reaches $4000, we will make THREE jackets for the top three bidders.
We will contact the winner(s) via Twitter DMs and will accept payment by end of day on Tuesday, June 9th. Once all funding is received we will make our donation to the NAACP and will post our donation receipt publicly.
