We all know the story. George Lucas and
Steven Spielberg were vacationing together in Hawai’i when Spielberg announced to Lucas that he wanted to direct a James Bond film. Lucas then told Spielberg his idea for a character named Indiana Smith, an archeologist and adventurer. Eventually, the name of the main character was changed to Indiana Jones and a legend was born.
The character of Indiana Jones is, in my opinion, the greatest character that George Lucas ever created. The three movies, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade are highly enjoyable and still hold up decades later. Before you accuse me of missing a movie; we all know there was a fourth film. Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull cannot be included in the aforementioned group, since it is far from enjoyable.
Speaking of the films, this summer the fifth (and possibly final) movie will be released, called Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. To coincide with the upcoming release Hasbro is releasing Indiana Jones figures spanning all of Indy’s adventures.
On January 11, Hasbro had a livestream announcing some of the upcoming figures. The full video is below as well as images and descriptions of some of the releases.
