Soundwaves: Available Now from Lakeshore Records the Hawaii Five O Soundtrack by Brian Tyler and Keith Power

Last week, Lakeshore Records released Hawaii Five-0—Original Series Soundtrack digitally with music by Brian Tyler and Keith Power.  The album is a long-awaited compilation of the best original music from the ten seasons of the CBS series. Produced by CBS Studios, Hawaii Five-O can be streamed on Paramount+.

Notes Tyler: “Hawaii Five-0 was part of my life for many years and it was always an honor and a pleasure working with everyone on the team. I remember when Alex Kurtzman first mentioned he was looking into re-booting the series I grew up watching on re-runs. I simultaneously thought “THIS IS SO AWESOME” and “I wonder how many episodes we will last?” We put our all into the show and dove in, so to speak. Ten seasons later we were a family and the show had gained fans and popularity beyond our wildest dreams.

It was an absolute pleasure and honor working with Keith Power for all those years on this show. His incredible mind and musical skill were an integral part of the sonic landscape for the duration of the show. It was a blast working with him and we had more adventures than one can count. It was also amazing working with my long-time music editor Gary Krause and music supervisor Liza Richardson. I am so grateful to everyone on the show including the producers. show-runners, editors, cast, screenwriters, sound department, directors, and all the musicians who made Five-0 legendary. A huge shout out to my buddy and visionary Alex Kurtzman for bringing me on in the first place. What a journey! I will miss my H50 family!!!”

Hawaii Five-0 is a contemporary take on the classic series about an elite federalized task force whose mission is to wipe out the crime that washes up on the islands’ sun-drenched beaches. Detective Steve McGarrett, a decorated Naval officer turned cop, returned to Oahu after Hawaii’s former governor persuaded him to head up the new team: his rules, no red tape and full blanket authority to hunt down the biggest “game” in town. Joining McGarrett are Detective Danny “Danno” Williams, a relocated ex-New Jersey cop who is committed to keeping the islands safe for his children; Captain Lou Grover, who formerly headed Hawaii’s SWAT unit; Jerry Ortega, the islands’ local conspiracy theorist; and Tani Rey, a bold, recent police academy graduate. Helping them is Adam Noshimuri, a friend with old ties to a deadly crime family; Junior Reigns, a former SEAL who comes to McGarrett looking for a job; Kamekona, a local entrepreneur who has his pulse on the Island; Sgt. Duke Lukela, a trusted member of the HPD; and medical examiner Dr. Noelani Cunha. The state’s brash Five-0 unit, who may spar and jest among themselves, remain determined to eliminate the seedy elements from the 50th state.
