The Marsh King’s Daughter—Original Motion Picture Soundtrack with original music by Adam Janota Bzowski (Saint Maud), digitally November 3. Janota Bzowski’s score masterfully balances both beauty and menace providing a hypnotic backdrop to the dramatic thriller. Lionsgate / Roadside Attractions and Black Bear Pictures will release the film directed by Neil Burger and starring Daisy Ridley and Ben Mendelsohn in theaters November 3.
A young mother must confront her long-buried past as the child of a kidnapper and the girl he held captive when her father breaks out of prison. Convinced he intends to take her daughters, she sets out to find and kill him herself. Notes Janota Bzowski: “Neil and I wanted the music to reflect Helena’s connection to the wilderness but also the trauma she experienced there. The film follows her internal conflict: the pain of reconciling memories of a loving father figure with the reality of his violent behaviour. Most recently, Adam has scored ‘Loch Henry’ for the new season of Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror, Femme directed by Sam H. Freeman and Ng Choon Ping, Animal starring Rory Kinnear and Sam Claflin, Neil Burger’s The Marsh King’s Daughter, and The Origin directed by Andrew Cumming. As a child he was known for his fondness of the intermittent static in between radio stations, an interest that would later see him study Sound Art at University of Brighton.
