E.V.A.: Fantasticon Beams into Downtown Toledo with Something for the Whole Family

Fantasticon returned to Toledo this weekend with a great guest list from local talent to stars of television and movies. I have to say that I love when a convention comes to Toledo; this town needs to have more shows like Fantasticon.

One of the things I enjoy about Fantasticon is that the staff is amazingly helpful and friendly. I have been to many conventions over the years and Fantasticon has the most chill vibe. Even the guests were more laid back and approachable than you see at some of the bigger cons. I don’t know what the organizers do to make the show more inviting but whatever it is I hope it never changes.

I mentioned the guests and this year there is something for everyone. In attendance today, I had the chance to meet Erik Estrada and Larry Wilcox from Chips, Mark Rolston from Aliens and Sam Jones from Flash Gordon and tomorrow Darren McCarty from the Detroit Red Wings joins the line-up. Aside from media and sports guests, Fantasticon has an area for artists and authors. In the artist area there is Emmy award winning make-up artist Daniel Phillips, Scott Kolins, Jerry Decaire and Renee Witterstaetter. Also in attendance are local authors Dirk Manning (https://www.dirkmanning.com/) and Jim Beard (https://www.flinchbooks.com/)

There is still one more day of the con so you still have time to check it out. Doors open at 11 am on Sunday. If you want to get more information about the show hop over to Fantasticon’s website.
