Soundwaves: Fallout–Amazon Original Series Soundtrack Music by Ramin Djawadi from Lakeshore Records

Lakeshore Records is set to release Fallout—Amazon Original Series Soundtrack digitally today, April 8, with an original score by two-time Emmy award-winning and three-time Grammy-nominated composer Ramin Djwadi (Game of Thrones, Westworld). Echoing soundscapes and ominous orchestral flourishes create a dark, industrial backdrop to the post-apocalyptic series. The original series executive-produced by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy at Kilter Films and starring Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten and Walton Goggins streams on Prime Video beginning April 11.

Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. Two-hundred years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind—and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them.

Notes Djawadi: “As a result of Jonah Nolan’s vision for the musical landscape for ‘Fallout,’ I have created a score that broke down in the twentieth century only to be re-assembled in the 2200s. At times held together with duct-tape and rusty screws, it’s made of hardware scraps, electronics, and orchestra. My hope is that upon arriving in the world of Fallout, you will be greeted by a score that helps you feel welcome, if a bit uneasy, in a place that is full of character, heart, and humor….and radiation.”

ABOUT RAMIN DJAWADI

You could say composer Ramin Djawadi, two-time Emmy® Award-winner and three-time Grammy® nominee, resembles a “musical chameleon”. Versatility has defined his career, from celebrated scores for Game of Thrones®, House of the Dragon, Westworld, Uncharted, Eternals, Iron Man, Pacific Rim, Jack Ryan, A Wrinkle in Time, Clash of the Titans, Great Wall and Prison Break.  Ramin has also composed scores for blockbuster video games including New World, Gears 5, Gears of War 4, and Medal of Honor.

Continuing his long-time collaboration with producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, Ramin has reunited with them and producer Alexander Woo to define the musical world for the new Netflix series, 3 Body Problem, premiering March 21, 2024. The soundtrack will be available early on streaming platforms March 15, 2024.

Ramin has won two Emmy® Awards in the category “Outstanding Music Composition for A Series Original Dramatic Score” for his work on Game of Thrones®. In collaboration with HBO and Live Nation, he transported the music from Game of Thrones into sold-out arenas and venues around the world for the Game of Thrones® Live Concert Experience. The concert stirred up accolades from Los Angeles Times, Entertainment Weekly, The New Yorker, Mashable, and more. The Game of Thrones® Live Concert Experience also received rave reviews in Europe during the spring of 2018 and returned to North America for a second tour in the fall of 2018 and a third tour in the fall of 2019. Ramin has conducted and performed at over 75 arena concerts to date, culminating in multiple sold-out performances at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

After his graduation from Berklee College of Music, Ramin picked up and moved west to Los Angeles where he was introduced to Hans Zimmer shortly thereafter. He cut his teeth by collaborating with Zimmer on projects such as Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Ramin personally scored Blade: Trinity in 2014; a project that allowed him to team up with legendary Wu-Tang Clan mastermind RZA and begin a string of dynamic and genre-bending collaborations. He would go on write music for Open Season alongside The Replacements’ Paul Westerberg and tap the talents of guitar-god Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, Prophets of Rage) for key cues in Iron Man and Pacific Rim. Moreover, he became a frequent collaborator for notable directors and producers such as Jonah Nolan (Person of Interest, Westworld), JJ Abrams (Person of Interest), and Lisa Joy (Westworld). Most notably, Game of Thrones illuminates the breadth of his talent. Ramin’s “Main Title Theme” has become just as iconic and essential to the show as the Iron Throne.
