Lakeshore Records is set to 
release Fountain of Youth—Soundtrack from the Apple Original Film digitally today, May 23 with music composed by Academy and BAFTA Award-winner Chris Benstead (The Gentleman). In crafting the score, Benstead designed a rich musical landscape where sound itself becomes a key—literally. A specific sequence of notes is the secret to unlocking the hidden entrance to the fabled fountain, embedding the music directly into the film’s mythology. Also included is a Thai pop cover version of the iconic hit “Bang Bang” produced by Benstead and featuring Jayce. Directed by Guy Ritchie and starring John Krasinski and Natalie Portman, Fountain of Youth debuts today, May 23, and is streaming globally on Apple TV+.
Notes Benstead: “I wanted the music to capture the sense of mystery and wonder surrounding the Fountain of Youth. There’s a mix of grandeur and playfulness as the story develops, and I tried to reflect that in the score. The organ plays a key role—it brings a deep, solemn and sacred feeling that helps ground the fantasy in something older and more timeless. Overall, the music isn’t just there to support the story; it’s part of the adventure as its melody becomes woven into the narrative itself. “

ABOUT CHRIS BENSTEAD
Academy and BAFTA award winner Chris Benstead, is a British composer with a distinct and captivating voice. With a career spanning an impressive array of projects, Chris has made a significant impact across film and television.
He has a long-standing collaboration with director Guy Ritchie, composing the music for the hit Netflix series The Gentlemen, a follow-up to the 2019 film for which Chris also provided the score. Recently, Chris scored The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, starring Henry Cavill, as well as Ritchie’s The Covenant (starring Jake Gyllenhaal). His music for Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre and Wrath of Man, both starring Jason Statham, was met with widespread critical acclaim. Next, Chris will lend his talents to Fountain of Youth, an Apple Original film directed by Guy Ritchie, starring Natalie Portman and John Krasinski.
His work on Disney’s blockbuster hits Aladdin and Beauty and The Beast showcases his versatility. In collaboration with Alan Menken, Chris not only composed additional music for these iconic films but also played a pivotal role in producing and arranging the songs for a modern audience.
Recent additions to his impressive portfolio include scoring the action thrillers Jericho Ridge and Rupture directed by Hamzah Jamjoom.
Chris received OSCAR and BAFTA awards for his work as re-recording mixer on Alfonso Cuaron’s masterpiece Gravity, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. Chris’ unique skillset allowed him to mix and sculpt the music in an extremely immersive way, pushing the limits of surround sound and exploiting the new ‘Dolby Atmos’ standard.
Previously, as an in-demand music editor Chris worked on over 40 films including the latest James Bond film No Time to Die, Wonder Woman, Black Swan, Brave, Thor and Cinderella and has worked with some of the most high-profile directors in the industry including Paul Greengrass and Sir Kenneth Branagh.
Chris is a versatile multi-instrumentalist and achieved a First-Class honours in music and sound recording from the University of Surrey. He was also named as Alumni of the year for his ground-breaking achievement in music mixing on ‘Gravity’.
