BAFTA & Emmy-nominated composer
Ilan Eshkeri, known for his emotionally-driven score from SUPER/MAN: The Christopher Reeve Story and recently the intense score to MobLand, brings a startling new original soundtrack for Netflix’s upcoming period drama House of Guinness – Traditional Irish folk tunes, with punk rock guitars, thumping EDM bass lines and a huge orchestra, all fused together in the imagination of Eshkeri to create a genre bending score. The music brings the wild attitude of the period characters to life in this epic emotional drama, exploring one of Europe’s most famous and enduring dynasties.
Eshkeri’s original score is brought to life with performances by Irish rock legend Tim Wheeler of ASH vocals from alternative rock artist WØLFFE, idiosyncratic solo violin performances by Eshkeri, The London Metropolitan Orchestra recorded at Abbey Road Studios and the best young Irish folk musicians to create an authentic and innovative musical world.
Ilan adds, “”It was a brilliant experience collaborating again with Tom Shankland, Steve Knight and Kudos. We began talking at the script stage of House of Guinness which always leads to well-developed music. From visiting sets and working in the cutting rooms, to playing with folk musicians, rock musicians, and synthesizers, and finally standing in front of an orchestra, every stage of this production was inspiring. I’m grateful to the filmmakers for giving me the creative freedom to write this eclectic, fun and emotional score”

ABOUT HOUSE OF GUINNESS
House of Guinness explores an epic story inspired by one of Europe’s most famous and enduring dynasties — the Guinness family. Set in 19th-century Dublin and New York, the story begins immediately after the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness, the man responsible for the extraordinary success of the Guinness brewery, and the far-reaching impact of his will on the fate of his four adult children, Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben, as well as on a group of Dublin characters who work and interact with the phenomenon that is Guinness.
ABOUT ILAN ESHKERI
Ilan Eshkeri is an award-winning composer known for his emotionally rich and stylistically diverse work across film, television, video games, ballet, and live performance. Eshkeri is Synaesthetic – a neurodigency where he sees colors when he hears music – which he applies to his artistry in creating music for visual media.
In 2024, he received his first Primetime Emmy nomination for Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story in the category of Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series or Special (Original Dramatic Score) and won the Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Documentary Score for the same project. The documentary, the first release from the new DC Studios headed by James Gunn, also earned him the Critics Choice Award for Best Score.
Eshkeri first gained prominence with his score for Matthew Vaughn’s Layer Cake (2004), a cult classic that established his reputation for blending classical orchestration with modern sensibilities. His career has since spanned acclaimed projects such as Stardust (2007), The Young Victoria (2009), Still Alice (2014), and the audiobook adaptation of 1984, composed with Muse’s Matt Bellamy. He has also scored major video games including The Sims and the award-winning Ghost of Tsushima, which received BAFTA and Ivor Novello nominations and won a DICE Award for Best Music.
His most recent sold-out live show, Space Station Earth, performed at the Royal Albert Hall, takes audiences on a musical journey through the emotional experience of space travel. Developed in partnership with the European Space Agency and NASA, and inspired by astronaut Tim Peake’s mission, the project evolved over six years into an album and a striking visual performance, further showcasing Eshkeri’s passion for storytelling through music.
