Lakeshore Records and Fifth Season recently 
released American Classic—Original Series Soundtrack today, March 6, featuring music by Emmyâ-nominated composer Tom Howe (Ted Lasso). Howe’s whimsical and poignant score is a lively backdrop to the heartfelt comedy series about a family full of drama. The series follows a Broadway star’s striking fall from grace and subsequent self-realization. The new MGM+ series starring Kevin Kline, Laura Linney and Jon Tenney is out now with new episodes releasing weekly on Sundays, leading up to the series finale on Sunday, April 12.
American Classic tells the story of Broadway star Richard Bean who suffers a spectacular public meltdown and returns home to the family theater where he first became aware of his own brilliance. Once there, his extreme behavior sets off a series of crises among those closest to him: his ex-girlfriend (now the town’s mayor) married to his brother, his brother himself, and his beloved niece who dreams of a life in the theater. As old loves resurface and buried secrets emerge, Richard must confront the consequences of his past actions and the family and town he left behind for fame and glamour. Each season follows a different Richard Bean production that will reflect the stories unfolding in the lovable but flawed Bean family and the transformative power of making art.

ABOUT TOM HOWE
Award-winning composer, songwriter, and musician, Tom Howe has scored over 100 projects for film and television. His recent projects include Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso and Shrinking, Amazon Prime’s forthcoming American Classic, Elle & Daisy Jones and the Six, Focus Features’ Polite Society and Book Club: The Next Chapter and Paramount+ series Knuckles. He has also scored recently Dreamworks animation Dogman.
In addition to composing music for film and TV, Tom Howe is a successful songwriter. He has written Top 40 hit songs, such as Sam Ryder’s Your Christmas To Me, which reached No. 2 in the UK chart and garnered a Brit Nomination for song of the year. He has also written TV theme songs including Shrinking’s main title theme, co-written with Benjamin Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie, and the Emmy-nominated Ted Lasso theme, which he co-wrote with Marcus Mumford of Mumford & Sons
The UK native divides his scoring career between London and Los Angeles. He has composed music for several major motion pictures including Shaun the Sheep: Farmageddon, Early Man, and Professor Marston & the Wonder Woman, Merry and Reminders Of Him. His non-fiction television credits include iconic The Great British Baking Show, BBC’s The Mating Game, and most recently, National Geograpic’s Secrets of the Elephants and BBC David Attenborough series Parenthood.
