Following the death of Granny, Jed has returned home to live in his old country cabin while nephew Jethro Bodine has stayed on in California as a Hollywood movie producer and blonde bombshell daughter Elly May manages a zoo full of the critters she loves. Former bank assistant Jane Hathaway now works for the U.S. government and, along with her new boss “Chief” (played by Werner Klemperer – Col. Klink in Hogan’s Heroes), attempts to solve the nation’s energy crisis with some unexpected help from the oil-rich Clampetts.
